Data Analyst

Location: Remote (U.S.)
Compensation: $90K – $120K
Team: Engineering
Level: Intermediate (2–4 years experience)

About the Role
We’re looking for a Data Analyst to help drive better decisions across the company through thoughtful analysis, clear metric definitions, and strong partnership with cross-functional teams.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and GTM teams to answer high-impact business questions. You’ll translate ambiguity into structured analysis, uncover insights that shape strategy, and ensure our metrics are accurate and trustworthy.
While this role is business-impact focused, you’ll also contribute to building and maintaining clean analytical data models that support scalable, reliable reporting.
You’ll join a small, high-impact data team where ownership is real and your work will directly influence how we grow.

What You'll Do

  • Partner cross-functionally to define KPIs, answer strategic questions, and support decision-making.

  • Build reporting and dashboards that drive action — not just monitoring.

  • Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Perform data analysis to uncover trends, risks, and growth opportunities.

  • Define and maintain core business metrics to ensure alignment across teams.

  • Support and improve dimensional data models (fact and dimension tables) in the warehouse.

  • Build and maintain reliable data transformations to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Help improve data quality, documentation, and reporting standards.

  • Contribute to forecasting, experimentation analysis, and predictive or inference modeling initiatives.

What We're Looking For
Must-Have

  • 2–4 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or similar role.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working in a modern cloud data warehouse.

  • Experience performing exploratory analysis and communicating actionable insights.

  • Experience working cross-functionally and influencing business stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable impact through data.

  • Experience building analytical data models — not only dashboards and ad hoc analysis.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take on projects outside your comfort zone.

  • Familiarity with tools such as:

  • Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch (or similar ingestion tools)

  • dbt, SQLMesh, or dataform

  • A modern BI tool (Tableau, Sigma, Looker, etc)

  • We currently use Airbyte, BigQuery, SQLMesh, Looker Studio, etc

  • Familiarity with version-controlled analytics workflows.

  • Familiarity with dimensional modeling concepts (fact tables, dimension tables, star schemas).

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience building predictive or inference models.

  • Experience building and maintaining data ingestion pipelines.

  • Experience implementing data quality testing and documentation practices.

  • Experience working with GTM teams to define and report on GTM metrics.

  • Exposure to event-based or product analytics data.

  • Experience using AI effectively in your own workflow.

What This Role Is Not

  • This is not a dashboard-only reporting role.

  • This is not a pure data engineering position building production infrastructure.

  • This is not a purely reactive analytics role — we value proactive thinking and ownership.

  • This is not a role where you work in isolation. You’ll collaborate closely with Product and Engineering.

Why This Role Matters
As Jump continues to grow, the quality of our data analytics foundation directly impacts product decisions, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes. This role ensures our metrics are trustworthy, our models are scalable, and our decisions are grounded in structured, defensible analysis.
Strong analytics compounds. The work you do here will shape how we define success, measure performance, and prioritize what we build next.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in analytics.

  • Proficiency in SQL required; experience with modern analytics tooling strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, or business stakeholders.

About the Company and Benefits

  • Raised a $80M Series B funding in Feb 2026

  • Health/Dental/Vision insurance (premiums covered for you and dependents if you choose a HDHP plan)

  • 401k (no match right now)

  • Take the time you need PTO (4 weeks-ish, but we don’t keep track)

  • HQ based in SLC, Utah

  • Fully remote OK (must reside in the USA). We’d like it if you’d fly in occasionally to get to know you

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
