About the Role:

Dr. Squatch is looking for a talented Data Analyst to join our Data team. The Data Analyst will be a driving force in creating useful analysis and reporting for teams across Dr. Squatch. By understanding the needs of business leaders and building reporting or creating analyses to meet those needs, the Data Analyst will help teams across the organization spend less time finding data and more time acting on insights gleaned from our data. The Data Analyst will work on a variety of projects and data sources. The analysis and reporting that the Data Analyst creates will inform key decisions across the business.

This role will report to the Associate Director, Data & Analytics.

This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based in Marina del Rey, CA.

The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $80,000 to $100,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and maintain reporting in our core business intelligence platform (Looker).
  • Create and maintain data models to filter and transform data to produce clean data sets.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our business and use that knowledge to identify insights in our data that others have not discovered.
  • Analyze data based on ad-hoc requests from business leaders, producing complete, accurate analyses that provide actionable insights.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues that may arise in various tools used by the Data team (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and Looker).
  • Be a go-to resource for non-technical users in our business intelligence platform, helping them find and understand data.

About You:

  • At least 1 year of SQL experience with a focus on querying, transforming, and analyzing data
  • At least 1 year working with business intelligence tools (Looker, Tableau, Mode, etc.)
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses (Redshift, Azure, Snowflake, etc.)
  • Python/R/other programming skills are a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Problem solver with a sense of urgency
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to take ownership
  • Preferred, but not required: Experience in ecommerce/direct-to-consumer businesses
  • Strong dbt knowledge is a plus
  • Familiarity with ETL tools is a plus
  • You can get things done without perfect resources, are innovative, and work with a sense of urgency
  • You have high standards, take ownership of your work, and are invested in the outcome
  • You proactively help others, stay positive, and have a good sense of humor
  • You enjoy working with data and applying the insights you find in it
  • You work independently, ensuring work is completed on time regardless of the challenges that come up
