Data Analyst:

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Data Analyst to support our growing Professional Services organization within a high-growth SaaS software company. This role will play a critical part in driving business insights and improving decision-making by partnering closely with the SVP of Professional Services, FP&A, and cross-functional teams. The Data Analyst will work across a variety of data sources including Salesforce, financial systems, and operational platforms to deliver actionable analysis, develop and refine forecasts, and uncover trends that inform strategic initiatives.

What You'll do:

  • Analyze large datasets from Salesforce, financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.), and operational tools to provide meaningful insights on business performance, customer engagement, resource utilization, project delivery, and financial health.
  • Support forecasting and planning cycles by leveraging historical data trends, pipeline analysis, backlog, and bookings data.
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports that clearly articulate key business metrics (e.g., utilization, realization, revenue, margin, capacity planning).
  • Partner with the FP&A team to ensure alignment on forecast methodologies, assumptions, and business drivers.
  • Build models that help improve forecast accuracy, resource planning, and scenario analysis.
  • Proactively identify areas of variance between forecast and actuals, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve data integrity across Salesforce and other systems of record.
  • Assist in defining operational KPIs, benchmarks, and best practices to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline data collection, reporting, and analysis.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Professional Services, FP&A, Sales Operations, and Business Systems teams.
  • Translate business questions into structured analytical projects and deliver concise, data-driven recommendations.
  • Assist in the development of business cases, board reporting, and strategic planning presentations.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
  • 3+ years of experience in a data analyst, business analyst, or operations analyst role, ideally within a SaaS or professional services environment.
  • Proficient in Salesforce reporting & data extraction, as well as experience working with financial data and ERP systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Solid understanding of forecasting techniques, business modeling, and data storytelling.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort working with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Self-starter with a high attention to detail and a passion for solving problems with data.
  • Experience with Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools (e.g., Planview, Mavenlink, FinancialForce, Kantata, or similar).
  • Experience integrating and automating data pipelines between systems.
  • Familiarity with SaaS financial metrics (e.g., ARR, churn, CAC, TTV, TTL, etc.).

The base salary for this position is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00. Compensation may vary depending on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses. Our Talent Acquisition team will provide further details during the interview process.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
