About the Team:

At Netlify, our Data & Insights team is a core part of the go-to-market strategy. As a Data Analyst (Product and GTM), you are a member of a team of data-driven influencers, setting the standard for how data and analytics are used at Netlify, and inspiring our product and GTM teams to action. We have a passion for data, are strategic partners to the business that define critical analytical problems, and drive data-driven recommendations using narratives and visualizations.

Our team is remote-first and distributed across North America.  Joining our team is a unique opportunity to work with some of the smartest, most motivated, and kindest people in the industry.  We are looking for doers and builders, people who like to roll up their sleeves and get things done. If you’re excited about researching customer behavior and market trends, analyzing product data, and working side-by-side with Product Management leadership to inform and build better solutions that will delight our customers, this is a role for you!

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with leaders across product and marketing to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand their business needs; become an expert in translating these needs into specific analyses with actionable insights
  • Advocate for improvements to data tracking, quality, and performance
  • Be a driving influencer on the use and application of analysis; deliver what’s needed, and show what’s possible. In your analysis, you’ll use multiple data sources to discover what is going well for our customers, where we can improve, and what to build next.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of user behavior to uncover issues or opportunities to improve our customers’ experience
  • Inform the product strategy via the outcomes of tests and experiments
  • Operate with a high degree of autonomy and will benefit from the support of the Data & Insights Team, sharing ideas and debating approaches.
  • Construct the core dashboards, visualizations, and analyses to help stakeholders monitor business health and make better decisions
  • Perform ad hoc analyses of user behavior to inform specific, near-term experiment designs or product decisions, or long-term product strategy
  • Ask the right questions to uncover the core business problem, especially when analyzing conversion data, forecasting trends, or identifying opportunities to drive revenue.
  • Utilize data to proactively explore opportunities, validate assumptions, and inform business decisions that drive meaningful initiatives.
  • Leverage our data stack of Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, and Sigma across the full analytics workflow, from ingestion to modeling to visualization.

What You'll Bring:

  • Several years of experience in a data analytics role within a tech/saas company, where you've partnered cross-functionally to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • A history of supporting product-led growth stakeholders and influencing their decision-making with data
  • Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, particularly data mining, manipulation, and exploration
  • Proficiency in writing performant, complex SQL queries combining multiple sources of data
  • A full-stack mindset - you're more than just a data analyst: you’re comfortable contributing to light data engineering work, especially when supporting data transformations or modeling.
  • Strong familiarity with our tech stack: Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, and Sigma.
  • The ability to evaluate metrics critically -  you understand how KPIs might mislead or overestimate outcomes, and you question underlying assumptions.
  • Clear communication and confidence, collaborating with senior leaders in a fast-moving, evolving environment.
  • An appetite for learning and a passion for the role of data in helping solve complex questions
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and collaboration skills
  • We welcome remote candidates based in North American timezones

This Role is a Great Fit If:

  • You’re curious and enjoy asking thoughtful questions to uncover the root of a business problem.
  • You’ve spent the last few years in data analytics roles at SaaS companies, helping teams make smarter decisions through meaningful insights and collaborating with senior leaders directly.
  • You enjoy working across the full analytics stack,  from ingesting and modeling data to surfacing insights in dashboards or experimentation.
  • You get excited about contributing to Netlify’s growth by identifying how data can help monetize the platform and influence product direction
  • You’re comfortable in environments where ambiguity, speed, and change are the norm.
  • You appreciate both detail-oriented investigation and big-picture thinking,  especially when it comes to shaping KPIs and forecasting growth.
  • You value tools that support your work,  especially platforms like Snowflake, DBT, Fivetran, and Sigma.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
