Overview:

 

VAST is seeking a Data Analyst (Operations) to join our growing analytics team. The candidate will roll up their sleeves and work hands-on to build analytics and dashboard visualizations that deliver actionable insights. The role will partner closely with business stakeholders in Operations and other Analysts supporting Operations to develop analytical solutions that improve VAST reporting systems, data quality, and processes.

We are seeking an analyst that can tell stories with data and deliver actionable recommendations that our stakeholders regularly use to make change within their organizations. With a focus on Operations analytics, the ideal candidate is familiar with Operations programs and data sources. This role will collaborate with stakeholders in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Logistics, and Quality to build analytics that inform decision making, increase return on investment, and improve business outcomes.

As a Data Analyst, this position will play a key role in transforming data into actionable insights that improve business outcomes. The Data Analyst will be part of teams that build and deliver accurate, accessible, and repeatable business reporting and insights to stakeholders across all levels. The analyst will focus on defined questions, creating standard reports and dashboards. The role will be responsible for both building data models behind operational metrics, using SQL, and creating visually compelling dashboards in Tableau.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Data Extraction: Write SQL queries to extract and transform data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and interpret data from various sources to provide actionable insights that support business objectives
  • Reporting: Develop ad-hoc reports and analytics packages for regular business reviews. Builds and maintains reports in Tableau
  • Data Visualization: Develop and maintain visualizations (using Tableau) to represent data, trends, and metrics. Builds visualizations that tell a story.
  • Insights: Deliver analytics that answer specific business questions and deliver actionable insights that create value and improve business outcomes
  • Data Management: Support efforts that improve the accuracy of data. Works to identify data quality gaps and improve the integrity of our data
  • Process & Policy: Work cross-functionally to streamline data processes. Troubleshoot issues and collaborate to improve data across systems


Requirements

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Analytics Operations Management, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a data analyst, preferably supporting Operations function
  • Programming Languages: Proficient in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
  • Visualization Tools: Experience in Tableau for dashboard creation and data visualization
  • Analytical Skills: Proven analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Domain Expertise: Experience with Operations data sources and processes preferred
  • Travel: Minimal travel required (approximately 10% or less annually)
