Come join the Aerospace team of system security engineers in the Cyber Engineering Department. We provide leadership, guidance and advice to the US Government Space Enterprise in developing and evaluating cybersecurity and information, communication, telecommunication (ICT) and supply chain risk management (SCRM) solutions. We focus on cybersecurity, resiliency, compliance, and managing risk in the space system software- and systems- development life-cycle activities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide security systems engineering assistance to Aerospace Program Offices in support of government customers in the National Security Space enterprise.
- Attend system development milestone and technical exchange meetings.
- Participate in risk management activities to ensure cybersecurity risks are evaluated, and mitigations are applied in accordance with security directives.
- Review, evaluate, and develop, protection profiles, evaluation methodologies policies, and testable requirements.
- Participate in or lead projects involving one or more of the following areas: Cyber Resilience, Cloud Security, Software Assurance, Internet -of-Things, Cyber Physical Systems (CPS), Program Protection Planning (PPP), risk and cybersecurity frameworks, cyber system trade-off studies.
- Support the development and validation of security policy, governance processes, and requirements for National Security Space systems.
- Work with customers to understand and integrate emerging cyber technologies.
- Provide research and analysis of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS), Government-Off-the-Shelf (GOTS), and Information-Assurance enabled products as part of the security architecture and ensure products are compliant with the Committee on National Security System policies and validated via the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS) or National Institute of Standards (NIST) Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP).
- Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
- Identify opportunities for expanding Aerospace service delivery.
- This position can be located in any of the following Aerospace Corp. locations: El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, Greenbelt, MD, Colorado Springs, CO, or Albuquerque, NM.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited program in Computer Science, Computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc., or other technical discipline.
- 8 or more years of experience in IT network or product design, architecture, operations, maintenance, and sustainment or engineering
- Experience working with the NIST Risk Management Framework and implementing security controls
- Proven interest in research and maintaining knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) policies and practices
- Demonstrate strong written and oral communications and excellent interpersonal skills
- Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a distributed team environment
- Willing to travel local, CONUS, and OCONUS approx. 15%.
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

- Familiarity with network and software cybersecurity diagnostic tools
- Familiarity with cloud computing, 5G wireless, Artificial Intelligence (AI), or Machine Learning (ML) technologies
- Industry recognized Project Management and Cybersecurity experience and certifications
- Active TS/SCI security clearance

$98,294 - $159,916 - $221,537
