The role
We are seeking an Associate to play a critical role in market expansion and platform growth. The ideal candidate for this position will be a data and modeling wizard who can adapt to the rapidly evolving needs of an early stage startup while synthesizing disparate inputs into a clean, coherent, and compelling narrative to drive internal stakeholders and external partners towards action. Expect to be deeply involved in strategic initiatives with direct executive involvement.
You likely have:
- 3+ years of experience in the commercial real estate industry or a background in management consulting. Experience in an analytical role at a high growth start up or in asset management specifically is a plus!
- Experience in building pro formas and multi-year budgets and creating advanced excel models
- An ownership mentality and a desire to build for the long haul
- The capacity to learn quickly and adapt to a challenging, entrepreneurial atmosphere; excited by operating autonomously to meet and exceed team and company goals
- A collaborative and creative approach to solving hard problems that require input from multiple internal teams
- Strong business acumen and an appreciation for building repeatable processes
- Proven ability to tell compelling stories using data by synthesizing complex datasets and budgets into easy to understand presentations and proposals
What you will do:
- Develop sophisticated financial models for Metropolis’ operations with commercial real estate owners and create polished proposals for internal stakeholders, the Metropolis Board of Directors, institutional investors, and real estate developers and owners
- Coordinate due diligence activities with prospective commercial real estate clients
- Collaborate with the Metropolis business development team to manage the deal process from diligence through contracting
- Attend external client meetings and be responsible for presenting complex financial models to an executive audience
