Q2 is seeking a Entry-Level Security Analyst who is eager to start a career in cybersecurity and contribute to protecting Q2’s products and infrastructure that serve hundreds of financial institutions. You will be part of the Security Operations Center (SOC), assisting in the monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents across cloud and on-prem environments. If you enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment and approach every day with a burning passion to thwart hackers, then Q2 wants you!
A Typical Day:
- Monitor security alerts and assist in identifying potential threats under the guidance of senior analysts.
- Help investigate and document security incidents following established procedures.
- Support vulnerability scanning and other basic risk management activities.
- Learn how AI and automation tools are used to detect and respond to emerging threats.
- Keep documentation and playbooks up to date and share trends or patterns you notice.
- Participate in ongoing training and mentorship to build your cybersecurity skills.
Bring Your Passion, Do What You Love. Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in information security or IT operations (internships or academic experience accepted)
- Familiarity with:
- Basic networking and operating system fundamentals
- Common security tools (SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS)
- Security concepts such as phishing, malware, and vulnerability management
- A scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation or analysis
- Basic familiarity with cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure) and awareness of how AI/ML tools are used in cybersecurity.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and curiosity to investigate anomalies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or similar foundational certifications
This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
