You know the platform inside and out — from registration builds and attendee management to reporting, troubleshooting, and onsite support. You’re organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple moving pieces at once.

Most importantly, you understand that event technology is more than logistics — it’s part of the attendee experience.

If you’re a seasoned Cvent professional looking for flexible, project-based work with a collaborative and high-performing team, we’d love to connect.

What You’ll Do

As a Cvent Freelancer, you will:

  • Build and manage event registration sites, event websites, and mobile apps within Cvent

  • Customize registration flows, attendee journeys, and communications based on client and event needs

  • Coordinate attendee communications, invitations, confirmations, reminders, and RSVP tracking

  • Support virtual, hybrid, and in-person events from a technical event platform perspective

  • Generate post-event reporting, analytics, and attendee insights

  • Troubleshoot platform or registration issues throughout the event lifecycle

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, producers, and external vendors to ensure seamless execution

  • Provide onsite or virtual event support when needed

What We’re Looking For
  • Proven hands-on experience using Cvent for event planning and event management

  • Strong knowledge of Cvent registration, reporting, attendee management, websites, and mobile app functionality

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving environment

  • Experience supporting virtual, hybrid, and live events

Bonus Points For
  • Cvent Event Professional Certification

  • Experience supporting large-scale conferences or high-volume registration management

  • Familiarity with additional event technology platforms or CRMs

  • Experience with email marketing campaigns and attendee engagement strategies

  • Calm-under-pressure troubleshooting skills and exceptional attention to detail

A Few Additional Notes
  • This is a remote freelance opportunity with occasional onsite support needs depending on event location and project scope.

  • Candidates located in the Los Angeles or DMV commuting areas are strongly preferred.

  • Some evening and weekend availability may be required during peak event periods and large-scale activations.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
