Position Overview:

The role of Customization Developer involves collaborating with Aspen customers to gather requirements, document specifications, and develop custom reports, imports, exports, and other functionalities tailored to their needs. As a key liaison between our Implementation team and clients, you will play a crucial role in understanding customer requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and delivering high-quality deliverables within specified timelines.

  • Engage with customers to understand their requirements for custom reports, imports, exports, and other Aspen functionalities. Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Document customer requirements thoroughly and accurately. 
  • Develop acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders. 
  • Create custom reports, imports, exports, and other Aspen customizations using Java programming language. 
  • Provide deliverables to customers for feedback and iterate based on their input. 
  • Estimate project timelines and work efforts and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless integration of custom solutions. 
  • Maintain clear and concise communication with customers throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

To be considered for and to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Qualifications include:

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ experience in professional services, customer facing type role
  • Prior experience in a developer/analyst role preferred
  • Proficiency in Java programming language, including experience with JavaScript, JasperSoft iReport, CSS, HTML, and XML, along with preferred experience in the Microsoft suite of tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities, with a proactive and creative problem-solving approach.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements into technical specifications effectively.
  • Experienced in estimating work efforts, managing project timelines, and handling multiple customer demands with excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, focused on customer outcomes.
  • Passionate about understanding and addressing customer needs, with a history of delivering positive results.
