Role

Octus is hiring a commercially-minded Product Specialist to own revenue outcomes across our Direct Data, and Data and Workflow solutions. You'll be accountable to revenue targets, lead expansion conversations, and sit at the intersection of client strategy, product influence, and commercial growth. You'll manage relationships from practitioner to C-suite, turning deep product expertise into measurable business impact for both clients and Octus.

This is a hybrid position (3 days in office/week), based in our New York office.

Responsibilities

Revenue & Commercial Outcomes

  • Carry and deliver against sales targets across Direct Data and Workflow products
  • Lead account expansion strategies, proof-of-concept engagements, and upsell motions in partnership with Account Managers and Sales Engineers
  • Re-engage closed-lost opportunities as product gaps close, converting previous losses into new ARR
  • Identify and document expansion signals from client interactions and surface them to commercial stakeholders. Shape and execute the strategy to convert opportunities to revenue

Client Retention & Adoption

  • Own the post-sale relationship for a global book of accounts, managing from handoff through renewal and growth
  • Drive measurable usage and adoption across your portfolio, with clear KPIs and proactive outreach cadences (email, calls, on-site)
  • Build relationships at every level — from ops teams running daily workflows to investment decision-makers and C-suite sponsors
  • Educate clients on best practices, new features, and data releases to maximize the value of their Octus subscription

Product & Market Intelligence

  • Become a recognized subject matter expert in Octus's data and workflow products
  • Systematically capture client feedback and translate it into actionable product roadmap input for Product, Commercial, and senior leadership
  • Document and scale commercial playbooks to the broader teams

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years in a client-facing role, ideally in financial technology or financial services
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and grow commercial accounts — quota or target experience preferred
  • Strong project management skills; comfortable coordinating across complex, multi-stakeholder client organizations
  • Intellectually curious with genuine interest in credit markets, data products, or financial workflows
  • Self-directed, organized, and energized by a fast-paced commercial environment

Why Octus

You'll join a high-performing Customer Success team where commercial impact is recognized and career growth is real. You'll have direct influence on the product roadmap, close collaboration with senior commercial leadership, and a platform that's reshaping how institutional investors access critical market intelligence.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
