Your Role:

The CSAA Data Science team is seeking a Customer & Marketing Analyst that will be responsible for leveraging data to provide customer data and measure business outcomes to inform business decisions, and to reveal and size new opportunities. This is an opportunity to be part of a customer focused team in our Personal Lines division, with a focus on customer behaviors in the auto and property business lines. The ideal individual is experienced in designing and delivering effective data visualizations and insights on marketing, customer behavior and customer experience programs.  You will collaborate closely with the product, customer experience and policyholder communication teams to understand business objectives and transform data into influential insights.  This position requires strong data, visualization, analytical and effective storytelling skills.

Your Work:

  • Applies data mining and code writing techniques to extract, prepare and translate data into business insights and enterprise analytic community data use.  

  • Develops data driven findings on marketing and customer outcomes with an appropriate balance of mathematical precision and practical business intuition.

  • Responsible for measuring and analyzing marketing and customer experience program effectiveness, managing critical performance metrics, reports and dashboards providing relevant findings commentary for business partners.  

  • Works across business, IT and the analytic community to streamline, automate and manage data for enterprise use, with heightened focus on customer behavior and marketing outcomes.  

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.

Required Experience, Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, business analytics, data mining, statistics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics.

  • Skilled in data analysis programming & visualization skills:  e.g. SQL, MySQL, SAS, Macro Enterprise Guide, Power BI, Advanced Excel.

  • Strong statistical, analytical, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, integrity and automation.

  • Inquisitive orientation and the ability to identify data needs and opportunities.

  • Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings.

What would make us excited about you? 

  • 3+ years in marketing, insurance or customer analytics preferred.

  • Multivariate statistical analysis, including regression analysis, decision trees, cluster analysis and direct/database marketing analysis.

  • Working knowledge of additional analytic tools and platforms such as Snowflake, DataRobot.

  • Shows respect for differences through excellent communication skills with people from an array of backgrounds.    

  • Actively shapes our company culture (e.g., participating in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.).

  • Lives into cultural norms (e.g., willing to have cameras when it matters: helping onboard new team members, building relationships, etc.).

  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc.

The national average salary range for this position is $105,300.00 - $117,000.00 annual. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $94,860.00 - $140,500.00 annual. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 8% of eligible pay.
