Job Description

As a Curriculum Manager at Nearpod, you will be responsible for optimizing our K-12 Mathematics instructional product offering. You will work closely with project manager(s), content team member(s), and independent contractors to ensure the product aligns with academic standards, research-based pedagogy, and the needs of teachers and administrators. You will elevate concerns and/or barriers to ensure creation and production needs are met. While operating within our instruction-focused team and ensuring our mathematics content meets the highest standards, you will also contribute to Renaissance's ecosystem strategy designed to accelerate student learning. 

We are seeking a hardworking, self-motivated candidate to perform the following functions: 

  • Strategic Collaboration 
    • Champion the instructional components of our product ecosystem, ensuring Mathematics curriculum initiatives support and advance the broader vision 
    • Coordinate the K-12 Mathematics curriculum strategy, aligning all instructional initiatives with company-wide goals, pedagogical frameworks, and market needs 
    • Continually optimize Mathematics curriculum offerings to maximize student outcomes and market competitiveness 
    • Manage and develop a team of content experts to execute the strategic vision 
  • Innovation & Pedagogical Expertise 
    • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding Mathematics curriculum for internal teams and external stakeholders  
    • Research and implement current educational trends, best practices, and innovative teaching methodologies  
    • Develop prototype lessons and assessment tools to validate market fit and instructional effectiveness 
    • Oversee the creation of engaging, interactive Mathematics curriculum resources that fully leverage Nearpod's platform capabilities 
  • Content Development & Project Management 
    • Partner with contractors, creative teams, and production staff to execute curriculum projects 
    • Develop exemplars, scope and sequence documents, and content planning frameworks based on rigorous standards analysis  
    • Staff projects and effectively allocate resources to maximize efficiency and content quality  
    • Create standardized training resources and style guides to ensure consistency across all K-12 Mathematics content 
    • Establish clear project milestones, deliverables, and success metrics for team accountability 
    • Maintain quality control processes to guarantee pedagogical soundness, instructional effectiveness, and precise alignment of all curriculum resources with Common Core and state-specific Mathematics standards 
    • Provide feedback to and coach curriculum developers throughout projects 
    • Manage multiple curriculum development projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery within budget constraints 
  • Cross-Functional Advocacy & Communication 
    • Support sales and marketing initiatives through content curation, implementation guides, and demo lessons 

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience 

  • Bachelor’s (BS or BA) in education, mathematics education or a field related to Mathematics; masters preferred 
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a K-12 Math leader with knowledge of pedagogy, standards, and instructional design  
  • Previous experience managing and executing curriculum development, preferably for an educational technology company or large K-12 school district  

Tech Skills 

  • Experience using educational technology tools in creative ways 
  • Proficient in G-suite & MS office applications  
  • Virtual meeting software proficiency  

Content Development Skills 

  • Excellent understanding of K-12 instructional approaches and best practices.  
  • Excellent writing and research skills 
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles and practices 
  • Ability to create content that is inclusive of all learners 
  • Provide actionable feedback to curriculum developers  

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to apply AI expertise to enhance math curriculum through adaptive learning, content generation, and data-driven strategies.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; values high-quality work 

Additional Information

Salary Range: $82,200 to $107,000. This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
