Why This Role Is Different:
Why You'll Love Working With Us:
Function is how you manage your lifelong health. The mission is to empower 8 billion people to live 100 healthy years.
We've created a new category in health. Named a TIME100 Most Influential Company. Raised $350M from investors ranging from a16z to Kevin Hart.
We started with lab testing three years ago and are quickly building a full-stack health system.
Function now reaches over a million people owning their health in a new way — far beyond biohackers and health nuts. It's popular coast to coast, across a wide range of incomes. Function is $1 a day, for what could otherwise cost thousands and be accessible only to a select few.
We're growing our team very selectively. World-class talent only. You must be driven by the mission to materially impact how people live globally.
The right person has a bias toward action and a growth mindset. There's no time to waste, and hard work is required. The reward is career-defining purpose and upside.
Social media is the fabric of culture. And it's the frontier of our GTM at Function. It's about attention, but also trust: make people feel something, and know they must have Function for themselves and their loved ones.
This role will own that surface end-to-end — social channels, creator and talent relationships, and influencer programs across both organic and paid.
This is one of the most visible and consequential roles at Function. It directly shapes how the world sees us, who advocates for us, and how we grow. You'll lead a small team spanning social, content, talent, and creator partnerships.
You can take a single story and tell it in countless compelling ways. You read culture the way a strategist does and execute the way an operator does. You understand not just what's trending but why, and you use that behavioral intelligence to make decisions that are defensible and ahead of the curve. You know when to show up in a cultural moment and when to create one. You build creator and talent relationships that are genuine, strategic, and efficient. You know the difference between influence and noise.
If you've scaled a social presence and a creator program in the same role, and you can point to the cultural reads behind both, keep reading.
- Full ownership of multi-channel social growth.
- Drive step-changes in reach, engagement, and cultural relevance. Incremental is not the goal.
- Build and execute an always-on, performance-driven social strategy that keeps the brand sacred while enabling experimentation.
- Translate company priorities into platform-native content and formats across Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, YouTube, Threads, and Facebook.
- Personally model best-in-class real-time engagement: on-brand, fast, human, and culturally aware. Walk the walk.
- Set the creative bar with exceptional taste and cultural judgment. Be original in formats and moments, not reactive to what's already saturated.
- Own the full talent and creator strategy across organic and paid — from identification and vetting through ongoing management and performance.
- Build and maintain a creator ecosystem that reflects Function's brand values and reaches the audiences we want to grow into: early adopters, mainstream health consumers, and cultural tastemakers.
- Partner with growth and performance teams so influencer programs drive measurable acquisition outcomes, not just reach.
- Evaluate partnership fit through a cultural lens: does this person reflect where health culture is heading, or where it's been?
- Negotiate and manage talent relationships with rigor, from micro-creators to high-profile partners. Build the infrastructure to do it at scale.
- Obsess over where culture is heading in 12 to 24 months.
- Decode the behavioral "why" behind audience actions: what they engage with, who they trust, how health fits into their identity, and where Function has permission to show up.
- Identify cultural moments worth owning, define the moments Function should build, and set the criteria for knowing when they've landed.
- Apply cultural intelligence to ambassador selection, platform strategy, and content direction — removing subjectivity from creative feedback and grounding decisions in real signal.
- Map the cultural tensions Function navigates as it scales (access vs. luxury, data empowerment vs. health-tech skepticism) and help the brand move through them with intention.
- Lead and develop a team across social, talent, and creator partnerships, with several direct reports.
- Set the direction, operating model, and performance standards for the team.
- Build toward a team that can execute at high quality and speed without you in every decision.
- Raise the cultural fluency of the team.
- Operate as a true cross-functional partner.
- Influence how stories are told and launched, not just how they're posted.
- Communicate clearly on performance, cultural rationale, and strategic direction.
- Define metrics that matter across social and creator. Be accountable.
- Tie cultural and creator work to business outcomes.
- Move fast without being sloppy. Own your calls and your numbers.
- 5+ years owning social strategy, content, and creator or influencer programs at scale — ideally spanning both functions in one role.
- A proven track record of meaningful channel growth and creator programs that drove real business outcomes.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Deep operating experience in real time: cultural moments, news cycles, launches, live engagement.
- A genuine cultural intelligence practice — you can explain not just what performed, but why, and what it signals about where the audience is heading.
- Strong analytical instincts and fluency tying social and creator performance to growth metrics.
- Experience managing creator and talent relationships.
- Fast, decisive, and comfortable being accountable in public.
- Detail-obsessed, but not precious.
- Equally comfortable in strategy decks and in the comments section.
- Opinionated about culture and curious about what's driving it.
- A builder of teams, systems, and trust with talent.
You won’t be inheriting a playbook. You’ll be writing it. This is a rare opportunity to own how the category-defining health brand engages with culture at every level: what we put into the world, who carries the message, and how we build community at scale.
Social and creator are not siloed here. They are two expressions of the same cultural strategy, and this role holds both. That integration is the point.
If you want to push culture forward instead of reacting to it, this role is for you.
