What You'll Do Here:
Regional Specialists in CTE, or equivalent experience, will be accountable for growing Cengage School’s market share in K12 career and technical education programs. They will do this by working successfully with the Secondary Education group. The CTE Regional Specialist will develop an effective sales strategy. They will ensure Cengage School remains driven in adoption decisions. They will also increase customer success with our products and platforms.
- Build and complete an effective CTE sales plan, coordinating with the team responsible for Secondary Education in CTE products sold in K12.
- Develop relationships with C-level administrators at state and district levels.
- Build a successful post-sale support strategy and plan for print and digital. Ensure it aligns with the customer success team serving Secondary clients and with the US marketing team.
- Develop effective playbooks, in collaboration with Marketing, based on logistics across various jurisdictions and regions.
- Own the sales pipeline to ensure CTE achieves its sales target and monitor ongoing customer activities against sales goals and account-level plans.
- Lead customer meetings and sales discussions to help close new and retain existing businesses.
- Lead a strategic selling approach by working directly with Secondary sales consultants and regional managers on their CTE selling strategies.
- Own the RFP process for CTE offerings and develop proposals that win business.
- Create and deliver impactful presentations.
- Partner with the editorial product team, the technical product team, and the marketing group based in the US. Work together to ensure product and marketing plans succeed in the CTE market.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of the product line, digital platforms, and the US K12 market.
- Develop driven knowledge to advise product positioning and development, driving increased market share.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between teams.
- Find opportunities to involve CTE authors, advocates, and other team members, as appropriate.
Basic (Required)
- At least five years of K12 sales experience. Preferably in the vocational and technical training field.
- Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to work effectively with other departments within the organization.
- Strong, encouraging skills and the ability to cite evidence to support opinions.
- Strong C-level consulting and partnering skills, establishing relationships at both the district and state levels.
- Outstanding presentation skills, including experience crafting presentations.
- Must display initiative and flexibility, be diligent, and efficiently work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- The role requires strategic and tactical thinking. Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently to ensure the professionals within CTE accomplish their objectives.
- Knowledge of commonly used digital platforms is required, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be prepared to travel overnight 35% of the time; able to travel by auto and air.
- Managerial experience.
- Experience mentoring and developing others.
- Shown major-account sales ability in educational publishing, skilled trades, and career and workforce education, or other K12 sales.
- Experience working with digital sales products/applications!
- Experience in technical and occupational education preferred.
- CRM experience

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
