As a CRM Manager, you'll lead a team to drive customer engagement and repeat orders using Braze, overseeing strategy, campaign execution, and performance analysis.
The summary above was generated by AI

Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family’s pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We’re growing and adding more talent to help fulfil this valuable mission. That’s where you come in.

Note, we have a strong preference for candidates based in the East Coast time zone as it aligns best with the current team.

The Challenge to Solve

Slice is looking for a strategic, data-driven CRM Manager to lead our Consumer marketing automation efforts. You’ll oversee a small but mighty team responsible for driving repeat orders and customer engagement across email, SMS, and push notifications - all powered by Braze. This role is perfect for someone who loves combining creative storytelling with rigorous testing and data insights. You’ll work closely with Creative, Analytics and Product Marketing teams to send the right message to the right pizza lovers at the right time - all to boost order volume for our independent pizzerias.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and develop a team of two CRM specialists, setting priorities, coaching for growth, and ensuring flawless campaign execution in Braze.
  • Own the consumer lifecycle strategy, from onboarding and reactivation to retention and loyalty - optimizing for repeat order rate and order frequency.
  • Plan and execute multi-channel campaigns (email, push, SMS, in-app) that engage millions of pizza fans and drive measurable business impact.
  • Collaborate with creative, analytics, and engineering to build and optimize journeys across all stages of the user lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain the CRM roadmap and marketing calendar, aligning with company goals and key seasonal moments.
  • Experiment constantly - develop and test hypotheses, run A/B tests, and use results to improve messaging, segmentation, and automation.
  • Manage and optimize Braze: segment audiences, build triggers, automate journeys, and ensure technical accuracy and deliverability.
  • Report weekly, monthly and quarterly on CRM performance, highlighting trends, conversion insights, and opportunities to improve results.

The Winning Recipe

These are the core competencies this role calls for:

  • 5+ years of experience in CRM, lifecycle, or retention marketing within B2C or B2B software companies.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience working with Braze.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Deep understanding of email, SMS, and push marketing - from creative and segmentation to deliverability and compliance.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform strategy, identify trends, and drive optimization.
  • Demonstrated success designing and testing personalized user journeys and automated campaigns.
  • Excellent collaboration skills - able to partner cross-functionally in a global, fully remote organization.
  • Experience leading and mentoring team members.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for local business, food, and helping independent pizzerias thrive.

The Extras

Working at Slice comes with a comprehensive set of benefits, but here are some of the unexpected highlights:

  • Flexible PTO
  • Market leading medical, vision and dental insurance
  • 401K matching up to 4%
  • Wellness reimbursement/stipend
  • Weekly pizza stipend (Yes, that’s a thing!)

Salary Range: $145,000 to $160,000 + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
