Americor is seeking a Creditor Research & Resolution Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with creditors to secure the best settlements for our clients' unsecured debts. Your main tasks will include managing a pipeline of broken or defaulted settlements, researching settlement information, and renegotiating accounts with creditors. Additionally, you will work to save at-risk settlements caused by payment issues, manage client documentation, meet deadlines, and deliver exceptional customer service to clients, creditors, and internal departments.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

Work Location: Remote
 

Responsibilities:

  • Contact creditors, collection agencies, and attorney offices on behalf of our clients to renegotiate or save a broken or defaulted settlement on delinquent and/or charged-off accounts.
  • Review broken or defaulted settlements and uncleared payments, conduct research to uncover the issues, solve the problem, and work to save the settlement or resettle the account.
  • Utilize exceptional communication, tact, and persuasive abilities to establish strong relationships with creditors, collection agencies, and law firms, ensuring the best possible settlements for our clients.
  • Effectively manage an open queue of accounts to hit monthly production goals consistently.
  • Effective resource utilization, along with critical thinking skills, multi-tasking, prioritization, and organizational skills, are essential for working through the account queue.
  • Calculate acceptable settlement amounts according to guidelines set forth by the department using outstanding math skills to look at various settlement options in various situations.
  • Review client accounts to determine the availability of funds.
  • Gather and submit required documentation for approval and payment of settlements and fees.
  • Reviews settlement letters for accuracy.
  • Champions teamwork and collaboration but can also work well independently.
  • Maintain professionalism; be reliable, punctual, tactful, and considerate of others, and practice open communication.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience with debt settlement negotiations, payments, collections, mortgage loan processing, or customer service.
  • Debt Settlement negotiations experience preferred.
  • Ability to Influence, persuade, and close deals.
  • Ability to de-escalate difficult situations calmly and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail, with the ability to properly apply policies and procedures to various situations.
  • Highly developed sense of integrity with the ability to work under minimal supervision effectively.
  • Superior time management, multitasking, and organizational skills; able to work under deadline constraints while completing work accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and use good judgment to get the job done.
  • A strong work ethic, flexible, adaptable, positive attitude, and willing to go above and beyond to get the job done.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite programs, Intermediate computer literacy skills with the ability to effectively type 30-40 wpm.
  • Self-motivated desire to succeed with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
