About the role:

Cantina is looking for a strategic and systems-minded Director of Creator Programs to build and scale our creator ecosystem from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of community, product, and content—and has experience launching and growing creator programs with built-in rewards, gamification, or incentive mechanics, especially in fast-paced startup environments.

You’ll lead the design of the infrastructure that powers Cantina’s creator experience—from onboarding to engagement to long-term retention. That includes setting up scalable workflows, designing feedback loops, and creating programs that motivate creators to participate, share, and grow with us consistently.

We’re looking for someone who can support creators at scale while staying flexible enough to learn, adapt, and improve as the program grows. In this role, you will lead a small, dynamic team and work cross-functionally to build a seamless, scalable creator experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and launch the next phase of Cantina’s Creator Program—building the systems, onboarding flows, and incentive structures that support rapid growth.

  • Architect and maintain scalable systems for creator onboarding, brief distribution, content delivery, and performance tracking.

  • Develop an onboarding experience that blends hands-on support with smart automation—making high-touch engagement scalable.

  • Build and manage a gamified rewards system that drives long-term engagement, offering perks like monetization opportunities, early access, and performance-based bonuses.

  • Lead and mentor a growing team to ensure smooth day-to-day program execution for hands-on creator support and relationship management.

  • Set KPIs and operational dashboards to track the health and growth of the program, including creator retention, content volume, and distribution reach.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience leading and scaling creator, ambassador, or affiliate programs, particularly in high-growth digital or social environments.

  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, with direct experience managing creator onboarding and day-to-day program operations.

  • Ownership of a full creator pipeline—from discovery and recruitment through activation and long-term engagement.

  • Demonstrated success in building engaging, scalable reward or gamification systems that deepen connection and incentivize performance.

  • Strong analytical mindset, with experience using data to track program health, optimize engagement, and inform strategy.

Location:

This is a hybrid role, based in Los Angeles, as a majority of the Community Team resides there. Cantina, Inc. currently has offices located in Sunnyvale, CA and Brooklyn, NY.

Pay Equity:

In compliance with Pay Transparency Laws, the salary range for this role ranges from $145,000 - $180,000. When determining salary rate, a number of factors will be considered, including skills, experience, job scope, and location.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
