We are seeking a Creative Strategist to join the Pre-Sales Team and drive impactful, innovative campaigns for brand partners. This role combines strategic expertise with a deep passion for media, creativity, culture, and collaboration. 

As a key player on our pre-sales team within the Sales and Ad Marketing department, the Creative Strategist will support the development of compelling sales proposals and proactive pitches. You will collaborate closely with internal teams (Media Planning, Content, Sales, etc.) to create and deliver innovative, custom, multi-platform creative solutions for our brand partners across all platforms and titles within Outside Inc.

The Creative Strategist will primarily focus on digital, video, custom content (including creator campaigns), podcasts, and print products. This is an exciting, fast-paced, fun and creative role for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, is eager to jump in and be involved and bring creative ideas that will contribute to Outside’s award-winning campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the ideation and development of custom creative solutions for network-wide and individual title pitches for partners in a range of industries from CPG, auto, and tech to endemic outdoor categories, travel, and health/wellness. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to build advertiser programs and proposals aimed at driving revenue; including working with content teams, Audience Development, Performance and Post Sales, and Sales Managers.
  • Work with Sales, Media Planning, and the Creative Strategy team to respond to RFPs, creating tailored materials for client meetings and pitches. This includes strategic storytelling through standard and bespoke Outside materials that both capture the spirit of Outside and meet partner KPI’s, objectives, and goals.
  • Lead creative brainstorm sessions with your colleagues and collaborators. Succinctly articulate next steps, follow ups, and plans of action across teams and functions
  • Assist in the lifecycle of a proposal from ideation + brainstorming to deck-building + refinement all the way through post-sales handoff for execution. 
  • Maintain a high level of creative storytelling, copywriting, and editing of first-to-market, high impact, and relevant content and marketing ideas for prospective Outside partners. 
  • With your creative strategy teammates, ideate new ideas and upsells for returning and annual partners.
  • Maintain and organize a database of proactive ideas and pitches.
  • Develop sales opportunities and supporting materials for assigned accounts or categories.
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain sales materials, assets, templates, Asana boards, and team drives.

Skills And Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Editorial, Marketing, Creative Strategy or Account Manager experience in Media or agency setting is required.
  • Strong creative writing, storytelling,  and ideation skills with excellent presentation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with leading a team to action and ability to lead teams to success.
  • Task management with the ability to both strategize and manage a project to completion.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to stay current with evolving media and technology trends.
  • Proficiency in Slack, Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets), PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite, Canva, Webflow, Asana, and WordPress is a plus.

What We Offer:

Entirely remote jobs that could be performed in Colorado: Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $60,000 to $75,000. Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, Flexible Time Away,  sick leave, and more.  This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
