The Creative Strategist will design and produce high-converting ad creatives, collaborating with media buyers on performance data to generate leads in various sectors including mortgage and solar.
About the Role
We’re hiring a creative strategist for paid Social & display ads to concept, design, and iterate high-converting ad creatives for paid acquisition campaigns across mortgage, solar, insurance, and home services.
You’ll work closely with a senior media buyer to develop and produce winning ads end-to-end — from idea to execution — that drive qualified leads at scale.
This is not a brand/design-only role. You must understand performance marketing, direct response psychology, and how to design creatives that convert — not just look good.
What You’ll Do- Concept and create high-converting ad creatives (static, video, UGC-style, advertorial angles, hooks)
- Design ad creatives yourself (images, variations, layouts, thumbnails, etc.)
- Write or contribute to direct response copy (hooks, headlines, scripts)
- Generate and test new creative angles, hooks, and offers
- Collaborate closely with media buyers to:
- Analyze performance data
- Identify winning patterns
- Scale top-performing concepts
- Rapidly iterate on creatives based on performance data
- Build a high-volume creative testing pipeline
- Stay current with trends across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and native platforms
- 3–5+ years experience in direct response marketing + creative production
- Strong design skills (you can actually produce ads yourself, not just brief them)
- Proven track record creating ads that generate leads at scale
- Experience in one or more of:
- Mortgage
- Solar
- Insurance
- Home services
- Deep understanding of:
- Hooks, angles, and messaging
- Consumer psychology
- Conversion-focused design (not just aesthetics)
- Ability to turn data into new creative iterations quickly
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, test-heavy environment
- Design tools (Figma, Photoshop, Canva, etc.)
- Basic video editing (CapCut, Premiere, After Effects, etc.)
- Ability to create:
- Static ads
- UGC-style creatives
- Short-form video ads
- Landing page/mock creative concepts
- Experience working with high-spend media buyers ($500K+/month)
- Experience with TikTok-style and native ad creatives
- Copywriting experience in direct response
- You consistently produce ads that convert — not just look good
- You generate new creative concepts weekly
- Your creatives directly contribute to lower CPL and higher volume
- You can both ideate and execute without bottlenecks
- Competitive base + performance-based bonuses tied to:
- Creative performance
- Winning ad volume
- Contribution to campaign scaling
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage - Medical, Dental and Vision
- Paid vacation
- Paid sick and mental health days
- Tuition Reimbursement - Receive support for continued education with tuition expense reimbursement up to eligible limits
- Growth & Development - Unlock professional growth through mentorship, ongoing learning opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and performance-based raises

With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
