About Wander

Wander pioneered the “hotelification” of vacation rentals – combining the quality of a luxury hotel with the comfort of a private vacation home. Now we’re taking our verticalized travel experience guests love global with an end-to-end travel platform for trips, experiences and concierge service.

Role Summary

Wander is hiring a Creative Lead to join our team. You’ll serve as a one-person internal creative agency, transforming Wander’s expansive library of content into engaging, on-brand video assets across platforms. You’ll own our social media presence, launch our YouTube show, run commercials for the brand, and define the visual storytelling style of a premium travel brand that’s redefining how people live and work from anywhere.

This is a rare opportunity to take full creative ownership within a fast-paced, design-forward company with an audience that loves to be inspired. If you have a passion for storytelling, a knack for creating scroll-stopping content, and the strategic mind to grow an owned audience from zero to viral, we’d love to talk.

Who you are
  • A highly creative visual storyteller with incredible taste and brand-building ability who can conceptualize, edit, and publish across multiple formats and platforms.

  • A social-first thinker who knows what performs on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and X — and how to adapt content for each.

  • Comfortable flying solo: you’re a full-stack creative who can write, produce, film (when needed), and execute projects end to end.

  • Deeply collaborative — excited to partner with Marketing, Design, and Product to shape Wander’s visual identity and tone.
Comfortable working asynchronously and independently in a fast-moving, remote-first environment.

What you’ll do
  • Own Wander’s brand storytelling across video and social media channels, driving top-of-funnel engagement and brand affinity.

  • Build a content calendar and publishing cadence that aligns with marketing priorities and cultural moments.

  • Develop and launch Wander’s first YouTube series — from concept to post-production.

  • Create and manage a high volume of short-form video assets for social media, ads, and web.

  • Manage the voice and aesthetic of Wander’s Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube accounts.

  • Repurpose and remix Wander’s extensive archive of video and photo assets into new, evergreen formats.

  • Stay on the pulse of content trends, social media formats, and audience behavior to constantly evolve our approach.

Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in content creation, video editing, or creative production — agency or in-house.

  • Deep familiarity with social platforms and their content nuances — you know the difference between a YouTube thumbnail and a TikTok hook.

  • Portfolio that demonstrates your ability to create visually compelling, performance-driven content.

  • A strong sense of design, brand consistency, and visual storytelling.

Bonus points
  • Strong video editing skills with tools like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or CapCut; motion graphics a plus.

  • Experience building or hosting a video series or show

  • On-camera presence or comfort directing talent

  • Passion for travel, design, or real estate

Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary and equity package

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Remote-first culture

  • $1,000 annual travel stipend to experience Wander properties

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
