We’re looking for a Creative Lead - 3D to help shape how MECCA shows up in the physical world, from spaces and environments to products, objects, merchandise, installations and experiences.

Sitting within our Creative Direction team, this newly created senior creative role will help define MECCA’s future physical creative language, translating brand strategy and creative direction into distinctive ideas that build brand recognition, customer connection and cultural relevance.

The Role You Could Play:

This is a concept-led creative role for someone who naturally thinks in three dimensions and loves imagining what an idea could become beyond the screen.

Reporting to the Head of Creative Direction, you’ll lead the development of physical creative ideas across some of MECCA’s most important campaigns, launches, flagship moments and brand initiatives.

  • Develop and lead original 3D creative concepts across spaces, environments, products, merchandise, installations and experiences.

  • Take ideas from early concept through to a clear creative vision, considering form, materiality, scale, interaction and customer experience.

  • Help define and evolve MECCA’s physical creative language, exploring new formats, materials, technologies and collaborators.

  • Partner closely with Creative Leads, Creative Strategy, Design, Art Direction, Visual Merchandising, Product Innovation, Retail Experience, Store Design and Production to bring ideas to life.

  • Provide clear creative direction and judgement, balancing creative ambition with customer needs, commercial realities, feasibility and scale.

What You Will Bring:

You’re a senior creative who thinks expansively, brings strong conceptual ideas to the table and knows how to turn them into physical expressions people remember.

  • Experience in one or more 3D creative disciplines, such as spatial design, product design, experiential design, architecture, interiors, environmental or exhibition design, retail innovation or creative direction.

  • A portfolio that demonstrates big conceptual thinking expressed through physical outcomes, across different scales and formats.

  • Proven experience developing ideas from a blank page through to a clearly articulated creative vision and partnering with specialist teams to realise them.

  • A strong understanding of form, space, materiality, interaction and customer experience, with an eye for craft and detail.

  • Confidence communicating and presenting creative thinking, alongside a collaborative, curious and pragmatic approach to bringing ambitious ideas to life.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
