About the role

The Creative Director is responsible for shaping and maintaining the brand’s visual identity, tone, copy and creative direction across all channels. This individual contributor role oversees the development and execution of creative assets for campaigns, product launches, partnerships, paid media, and brand storytelling. Working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and sales teams, the Creative Director ensures that all creative output is strategically aligned with business goals and resonates with target audiences. Responsibilities include managing internal creatives, freelancers, and agency partners to deliver high-quality content efficiently and at scale. The position also requires strong leadership in guiding video production, design systems, and performance-driven creative, while staying informed on cultural, technological, and industry trends. 

What you’ll do
  • Own and shape the brand’s creative vision, making sure the look, feel, and voice stay consistent across all channels. 
  • Lead the development of standout creative concepts for campaigns, partnerships, product launches, paid ads, and brand storytelling. 
  • Oversee video production for use in paid media, web, social, and product marketing. 
  • Use audience insights and performance data to create campaigns that connect with key segments and deliver results. 
  • Think strategically, linking creative work to business goals and customer needs. 
  • Provide clear creative direction and feedback, balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on execution. 
  • Partner with marketing, product, and sales teams to deliver creative that supports their goals. 
  • Responsible for workflow oversight of agencies, freelancers, and internal creatives to produce content, video, copy and design at scale. 
  • Stay current on trends in culture, technology, design and the competitive landscape to keep the brand fresh and forward-thinking. 
What we’re looking for
  • 10+ years of creative experience, with at least 4+ years experience being responsible for all creative outcomes from internal/external contributors. 
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of brand, campaign, and digital work. 
  • Proven ability to lead concept development and execute integrated marketing campaigns. 
  • Expert knowledge of design principles, creative tools, and brand strategy. 
  • Experience managing agencies and growing creative teams. 
  • PC skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft environment and the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in a meaningful way.  
  • Expert experience in relevant creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.) 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to effectively partner with leaders across multiple functions 
  • Ability to work in a high-growth, dynamic environment.

Target base compensation is $150k-$170k annually. Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location. Additionally, Unlock’s Total Rewards package is highly competitive, designed to support your success at work, at home, and at play – such as 401K matching, health benefits, employee stock options and paid time off.
