Own RoboForce’s video vision and end-to-end production, including brand films, technical demos, and company videos. Develop concepts, scripts, treatments, and storyboards; direct shoots and crews; and oversee cinematography, editing, sound, color, motion, VFX, and delivery. Translate complex robotics and engineering progress into accurate, compelling stories across campaigns, launches, web, social, recruiting, and sales. Manage agencies, budgets, schedules, assets, reviews, and usage rights while partnering with marketing, design, executives, engineers, and customers.
Why RoboForce
RoboForce is an AI robotics company developing Physical AI–powered Robo-Labor for dull, dirty, and dangerous work. The company's robots are engineered for demanding industrial environments, with a focus on real-world deployment and scalability.
We are looking for a Creative Director, Video (Contractor or Full-time) to shape how the world sees RoboForce. This is a deeply hands-on role for a filmmaker and brand builder who can personally own and deliver video projects end-to-end—from concept, treatment, and scripting through shooting, editing, sound, color, and final delivery. You will lead our brand films, technical demos, and video production while contributing creative ideas and content across campaigns, launches, web, social, recruiting, and sales. You will partner with our marketing experts and designers.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute end-to-end production for RoboForce brand films, technical demos, and company videos—from the first idea through production and post to the final delivered asset.
- Stay close to our robots and engineers; turn technical progress into stories people remember.
- Develop treatments, scripts, and storyboards; direct on-site shoots and guide cinematography, sound, motion, VFX, and post-production.
- Shoot and edit when speed, access, or creative intent calls for it, and direct crews or agencies for larger productions.
- Define RoboForce’s cinematic language and build repeatable formats that make our work recognizable and consistently excellent.
- Significantly contribute creative concepts and content to marketing campaigns, product launches, the website, social media, recruiting, and sales—without owning those functions.
- Partner with our marketing experts and designers to translate business goals, audience insight, and technical proof into compelling creative work.
- Direct editors, cinematographers, motion/VFX artists, 3D specialists, and agencies; manage briefs, budgets, schedules, reviews, files, and usage rights.
Requirements
- 8+ years in creative direction, brand content, commercial filmmaking, or integrated production, including substantial hands-on leadership of video work.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating direction and end-to-end production across high-quality films, technical or product videos, and digital campaigns.
- Hands-on ability to personally shoot and edit high-quality video, direct crews, and make sound decisions across camera, lighting, audio, motion, and finishing.
- Ability to translate complex technical subjects into clear, credible stories without losing accuracy or overstating product capabilities.
- Experience contributing to integrated campaigns and adapting creative across web, social, events, recruiting, sales, and other audience touchpoints.
- Experience managing agencies, production partners, schedules, and budgets while maintaining creative quality.
- Strong judgment when working with executives, engineers, marketers, designers, customers, and external partners.
- Hybrid with 3+ days/week in-office (Milpitas, CA) collaboration with the teams.
- Open to a full-time hire or an initial 3–6-month contractor engagement, with the opportunity to transition to full-time.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with robotics, AI, industrial technology, aerospace, defense, automotive, or other complex hardware products.
- Hands-on strength in cinematography, editing, motion design, 3D, VFX, photography, or web workflows.
- Experience building an internal studio, content operation, asset library, or trusted production network.
- Competitive stock options/equity programs.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) plan.
- Visa sponsorship and green card support for qualified candidates.
- Lunches and dinners, a fully stocked kitchen, and regular team-building events.
