For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Graphic Design Associate, Global Marketing to serve as a junior creative partner across the Global marketing department and wider. This role will support discovery sessions, assist in creative strategies and concepts and deliver creative excellence at all levels on the Campaigns and Creative team. The ideal candidate has some agency or in-house creative experience and, more importantly, brings an ever-optimistic, can-do, team-focused attitude to leverage creative leadership for global impact.
This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates. It reports to Global Director, Campaigns & Creative and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
Support creative and visual concept development that align with IJM’s Global Marketing Strategy;
Work with the Creative team and Capability leadership to develop design assets for IJM stakeholders, including communicating design choices and strategies to creative leaders as needed;
Keep up-to-date on print, digital and social design trends as well as learn any new tools/programs for creative work;
The Creative Associate is responsible for sending work for revisions, implementing feedback from appropriate stakeholders, and finalizing designs;
Ability to collaborate with multiple creatives, teams and external contractors while maintaining good relations;
Support the development of strategic, insight-driven creative content that communicates our mission, personality, and value proposition in partnership will Global Marketing Capabilities;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support creative strategy and brand creative direction for a variety of experiences, including campaign, digital, content and experiential;
Create a range of print materials and digital experiences to communicate IJM’s work to our audiences. Print materials range from flyers, posters, magazines, photocards, envelopes, large-scale graphics, merchandise, illustration, etc. Digital experiences include social media (organic and paid), landing pages, and giving forms;
Uses appropriate channels (Teamwork, MS Teams, in-person meetings, emails) to communicate and follow up with collaborators;
The Creative Associate is responsible for protecting their time and vocalizing any risks or foreseeable changes during projects to the Creative Operations Manager and relevant stakeholders;
In collaboration with the Creative Leads, the Creative Associate can work on conceptualizing the visual brand for an event;
Create materials for events such as merchandise, large scale graphics, design for large format screens, event guides, digital event advertisements, etc;
Participation in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.
2+ years of agency or in-house experience as a graphic designer;
BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, or other relevant art degree;
Branding and Digital creative experience.
