These solutions are used by law enforcement, national security, and national and military intelligence agencies in almost 100 countries to turn massive, diverse data into clear, actionable intelligence for a safer world.

We are looking for a Country Sales Manager to join our Global Sales team and drive our business in Australia, building trusted relationships with customers and partners, identifying new business opportunities, and leading complex sales engagements for Cognyte’s investigative analytics solutions.

As a Cognyter you will:

  • Own and grow Cognyte’s business in Australia, driving sales opportunities and achieving assigned revenue and sales targets.
  • Develop and execute territory and strategic account plans, identifying opportunities to expand existing relationships and generate new business.
  • Build, manage, and continuously develop a healthy and sustainable sales pipeline.
  • Lead complex, end-to-end sales cycles for Cognyte’s investigative analytics, tactical intelligence, and decision intelligence solutions.

  • Collaborate closely with Presales, Product, Marketing, Delivery, and other internal teams to understand customer needs, develop compelling solutions, and successfully close opportunities.
  • Maintain strong sales discipline through accurate forecasting, pipeline management, account planning, and CRM management.

For that mission you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in strategic or enterprise sales to government organizations in Australia, ideally within law enforcement, national security, intelligence, defense, or adjacent markets.
  • A strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and successfully managing complex, long-cycle sales opportunities.
  • Experience developing new business while growing and expanding existing strategic accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Experience recruiting, developing, and working effectively with channels and agents.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to navigate complex customer and stakeholder environments.
  • The ability to quickly understand and communicate complex technology, solutions, and customer use cases.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate effectively within a global organization.
  • Willingness to travel as required, approximately 50% of the time.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
