Objectives:
- Provide high quality legal support and act as a true business partner by proactively providing advice and legal guidance to Takeda's Global Plasma-Derived Therapies Business Unit (PDT BU), with a focus on the US BioLife Plasma Services (BioLife) organization. BioLife is Takeda's global plasma collection network and an industry leader in the collection of high-quality plasma.
- Apply a proactive, collaborative, and leadership mindset and approach to partnering with internal stakeholders and with external partners to advance the goals of the PDT BU and broader Takeda, through actions based on Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business, in that order.
Accountabilities:
- Effectively partner with and advise the PDT BU on all matters, with dedicated focus on US BioLife. Establish competence, demonstrate executive presence, and exercise influence to serve not only as a legal advisor but a legal counselor and leader on various legal issues with business impact.
- Proactively identify and provide advice and leadership for legal issues confronted by a highly regulated industry with employees and donors in over 240 centers and almost 40 states, while also exercising enterprise-level thinking, business acumen, and influence to create positive outcomes for Takeda.
- Act as primary legal point of contact for US BioLife plasma center operations
- Serve as dedicated legal partner to internal stakeholders across US Medical Affairs, Marketing, Security, Operations, Human Resources, Employment, Litigation, Ethics & Compliance, Regulatory, Donor Experience, and Digital, Data & Technology.
- Analyze risks and effectively advise and train key stakeholders on managing such risks in light of Takeda's values-based mission and in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical codes.
- Effectively manage BioLife disputes and litigation independently and in conjunction with internal and external Litigation and Insurance partners.
- Proactively implement, and contribute to the implementation of, risk mitigation processes, with a focus on plasma center operations, security, marketing activities, labor law, and regulatory compliance.
- Review external and internal communications, with a focus on donor-facing plasma marketing communications.
Education, Behavioral Competencies and Skills:
- Independently manage complex issues, simplify abstract problems, and drive global change management, in partnership with other functions.
- Have extensive experience in providing legal support for marketing, operational, and medical affairs activities in the US plasma collection industry.
- Embrace a global, values-driven perspective, demonstrate agility and collaboration in leadership, and support diversity of thought.
- Be experienced in dispute and litigation management and regulatory analysis with respect to the US plasma collection industry.
- Provide decisive, forward-thinking, and pragmatic counsel on risk, incorporating diverse stakeholder input.

- Possess intellectual curiosity, a high degree of emotional intelligence and exceptional skills in verbal and written communication, teamwork, presentation, creative problem-solving.
