The opportunity 

As a Counsel, Commercial and Product within our Legal team, you will be providing strategic legal counseling to cross-functional business partners on a wide range of commercial transactions, product development, and related matters in the exciting and fast-paced augmented reality space. 

What you’ll do 

  • Draft, negotiate, and review various commercial agreements, including professional services agreements, intellectual property agreements, data protection agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, and other technology agreements
  • Work cross-functionally with business partners to provide strategic legal advice on commercial and product matters
  • Develop and deliver training to internal teams on legal issues relevant to our products and services 
  • Maintain and improve contract templates, forms, policies, playbooks, and scalable processes to drive efficiency and innovation across the company
  • Identify and assess legal risks and propose practical mitigation solutions
  • Conduct legal research to stay informed about evolving laws and regulations that impact our products, services, and industry.

The experience you bring

  • 4+ years of legal experience either at a law firm and/or as in-house counsel
  • J.D. or foreign equivalent 
  • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and closing technology transactions
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent legal and business judgment

It’s exciting if you also have

  • Experience as an in-house lawyer in the technology industry
  • Strong understanding of legal/contractual issues related to artificial intelligence, intellectual property, and data protection
  • Working knowledge of product regulatory matters related to hardware or software products
  • Experience using contract lifecycle management platforms

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. In addition to salary, Magic Leap offers a discretionary bonus and a fully comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.

US Base Salary Range
$130,000$150,000 USD
