Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Any updates to this model will be communicated in advance. Please note that hybrid eligibility and schedules may vary based on business needs and manager expectations.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Accounting, we are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking Staff Accountant who will be responsible for various tasks related to month-end close, general ledger review, account reconciliations, and other tasks as assigned in support of shared services.

Responsible for the integrity of the accounting of all balance sheet and profit and loss transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Prepares journal entries, schedules and analysis in accordance with GAAP for month-end close.

  • Perform month-end close of sub-module for approximately 36 sub-systems accurately.

  • Compile balance sheet account reconciliations.

  • Prepare intercompany agreement transactions. Ensure variances are corrected timely.

  • Prepare and calculate royalty accrual and payments.

  • Work on intercompany billings and make sure that the intercompany accounts balance at the end of the month.

  • Create and maintain monthly and quarterly income statement reports.

  • Works with support staff and management throughout the company obtaining information to complete financial statements.

  • Perform income statement and balance sheet variance analysis comparing actuals vs. budget or prior year.

  • Work with internal and external auditors providing supporting documentation as needed.

  • Prepares and validates supporting schedules for SEC reporting.

  • Align with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

  • Other projects or tasks as assigned.

  • Office Skills (Filing, Organizational Skills, Presentation Skills)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting.    

  • 1+ years of related experience in accounting.

  • Solid experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel.

  • Knowledge in Accounting, General Ledger, and Trial Balance.

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hyperion (OneStream), Oracle.

  • Proficient using Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI)

  • Experience with a public company’s requirements

  • CPA
