Job Description

The Paralegal Specialist provides paralegal support for specific a practice area under limited attorney supervision. This role is to support the Arity Legal Counseling team within Business Law.
This individual serves as subject matter expert regarding contracts workflows and processes, contract templates and drafting, legal research and contract signing processes. The Paralegal Specialist proactively identifies, summarizes, and monitors relevant issues.
This role also manages intake of new matters and gathers matter related documents for the attorney to analyze and assists with contract preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage intake of new matters, review commercial contract deal sheets, enter new matter data and complete contract templates based commercial parameters provided
• Review and explain various aspects of forms to in-house clients
• Conduct, summarize, and analyze research, including gathering facts, researching and analyzing applicable laws, regulations, and case laws, etc., as necessary
• In a highly efficient and effective manner, serves as a subject matter expert when conducting legal research and transactions while possessing a high degree of competency in online legal research tools and transactional logistics
• Independently determine if additional research is needed
• Maintain corporate records and archives, in accordance with records retention requirements
• Proactively identify and summarize relevant issues while continually monitoring them and updating the attorney with recommendations, as appropriate
• Review new and proposed legislation and determine applicability
• Gather matter related documents for the attorney to analyze

Education

• Applicants must meet the regulatory and qualification standards applicable to the paralegal profession in the state where work is performed; OR an equivalent combination of education and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant paralegal experience.

Minimum Requirements & Experience

• 4+ years of paralegal experience with a corporate legal environment
• Experience supporting multiple attorneys within a high volume fast-paced legal environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of corporate and/or compliance processes
• Demonstrated expertise utilizing Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Extensive experience leveraging Microsoft 365 to support collaboration, communication, and workflow efficiency
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 productivity and collaboration tools

Work Environment/Location & Travel Expectations

• This position is primarily remote.
• Minimal travel may be required based on business needs, training sessions or team events, within Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX, Charlotte, NC; OR Scottsdale, AZ.

Compensation

Compensation offered for this role is 28.03 - 42.99 per hour and is based on experience and qualifications.
