TITLE: Corporate FP&A Internship – Summer 2026

LOCATION: Carmel IN or Chicago IL or Remote in the U.S Eastern or Central Time Zone

CNO’s Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Internship program is designed to provide college students practical, hands-on experience in accounting and finance skills at a leading insurance company. 

This is a paid internship, at approximately $21-$23/hr depending on location. The Memorial Day and 4th of July holidays are paid days off.

As a Corporate FP&A Intern, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and facilitating documentation of key processes supporting quarterly reporting and analysis
  • Participating in discussions on process improvement and related documentation
  • Learning and developing the systems and data surrounding financial figures
  • Assisting with modeling and modeling related questions
  • Completing special projects
  • Assisting with month end and quarter end close

Summer interns will gain valuable experience assisting in the evaluation of specific initiatives that are either in flight or ready to be launched. This will include data analytics, market research, and development of business case including but not limited to a cost benefit analysis. In addition, the intern will assist with various data management, research and process development activities. In addition to working with FP&A, the intern will interact with the management and staff from other key areas in finance and business.

The CNO 2026 internship program will run May 18 through August 7, 2026. During this period, we offer programming that compliments the learning provided by the department through work and other activities such as

  • An in-person event at one of our Corporate offices during the summer

Qualified candidates for a Corporate FP&A intern position will have:

  • Progress towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Current status as a rising junior or rising senior, with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Availability to work 10-12 weeks during the summer
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Office products
  • Tableau skills are a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

CNO embraces flexibility and encourages you to work where you’re most productive.  For students residing within 60 miles of CNO’s Carmel, IN or Chicago corporate office, interns will have access to come into the office.  If there are groups of interns near either location, informal lunches may also be arranged.  For interns not residing within 60 miles of a CNO corporate office, CNO also offers internships as fully remote / work-from-home from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.
