The Corporate Development team is on a mission: to keep Waymo ahead of the pack through cutting-edge corporate strategy and technology. We share knowledge, invest, partner with like-minded companies (and sometimes acquire them), and make other strategic transactions to keep Waymo driving ahead. Before we act, we do incredibly in-depth research into the automotive and technology ecosystems; build advanced financial models; and perform due diligence of all types. We do everything we can to create the best situation for Waymo to thrive.
In this hybrid role, you will report into our Head of Corporate Development and Investor Relations.
You will:
- Deal Sourcing & Evaluation: Identify, screen, and evaluate potential M&A targets, strategic investments, or partnership opportunities against the company's strategic goals.
- Financial Modeling & Valuation: Build detailed financial models for valuation purposes, deal negotiations, and comparable companies analysis
- Due Diligence & Deal Execution: Coordinate and lead cross-functional due diligence efforts, working closely with teams such as Legal, Finance, and Product Engineering.
- Internal Communication & Reporting: Prepare internal investment memos, presentations, and other documentation required for deal evaluation and transaction approval.
- Market & Industry Analysis: Conduct ongoing research and analysis of market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to identify potential opportunities and threats.
- Lead the assessment of new business lines by conducting rigorous financial modeling, market research, and commercial viability analysis to drive data-backed investment decisions.
You have:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
We prefer:
- Completion of a 2-3 year investment banking analyst program.
- 4-6 years of experience in M&A, strategic investments, or a related field.
- Experience building detailed financial models and valuation analyses.
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
