Corporate Development Cobrand & Network Partnerships, Executive Director
Job Description
In this role you will have the exciting opportunity to oversee important partnerships and strategies across the consumer franchise.
As an Executive Director on the Corporate Development Cobrand & Network Partnerships team in the Consumer & Community Bank (CCB), you will think strategically, manage all aspects of complex multi-party B2B transactions from due diligence to signing, and secure the enterprise's cross-functional alignment. You are innovative, forward-thinking, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment alongside the JP Morgan Chase executive team to build and deliver solutions that drive Chase forward. You will oversee complex deal negotiations and represent Chase at the negotiation table on multi-billion deals. You will influence senior executives with a fact-based, measured and quantified arguments.
The Corporate Development team at Chase is responsible for the partnerships and strategies at the heart of the most important business decisions across the consumer franchise. Within Corporate Development, the Cobrand and Network Partnerships team is responsible for end-to-end negotiations with existing partners like Amazon, Disney, United, Marriott, and Southwest, as well as future prospects, and the major payment networks, Visa and Mastercard. JP Morgan Chase is the number one U.S. credit card issuer and has been in the cobrand partnership business for approximately 40 years with partners who are leaders in their respective categories.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional efforts within JPMorgan Chase and with external partners to identify, negotiate, and execute key cobrand and network partnerships that drive business results and support the business strategy
- Collaboratively develop partnership strategy with the lines of business, including identifying key elements of the strategy, completing analysis, and making recommendations
- Structure and deliver specific partner proposals with the lines of business, including overall vision, partnership economics, and product integration
- Work in conjunction with finance, legal and other functional partners to craft financial business cases, deal constructs and other key terms associated with the partnership
- Ensure all deals and business development is executed in accordance with policies, controls, key functional partners, and Corporate Development procedures
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor's degree
- 8+ years of combined financial services and deal making experience
- Deep analytical skills, including understanding of common financial statements and ability to diligence financial models
- Ability to engage fruitfully with JPMorgan's C-level executives and Chase's most important external partners
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and formulating business strategies, including structuring problems, completing analysis, and making recommendations
- Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to new or ambiguous situations without significant assistance
- Proven experience in working across departments and lines of business within large organizations and fostering long-term relationships
- A strong business judgement and solid prior experience in the financial industry
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Master's degree
- Experience in the credit card business
- Experience with cobrand deals
- Management consulting experience

About the Team
Our Consumer & Community Banking division serves our Chase customers through a range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. We're proud to lead the U.S. in credit card sales and deposit growth and have the most-used digital solutions - all while ranking first in customer satisfaction.
The Strategy team manages mission-critical projects ranging from developing growth strategies, to assessing and planning entry into new markets, to implementing organizational restructurings and operational efficiencies, and more. Projects are typically team-based and include close collaboration with senior executives.
