Job Description
The Motion & Energy (MOEN) Corporate Controller reports directly to the VP of MOEN Finance Competency & Improvement and indirectly to the MOEN Chief Financial Officer, serving as a vital link between the company’s financial and executive teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills to effectively convey financial insights to senior management, and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
The Corporate Controller will help manage the company’s accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to financial regulations and reporting requirements. Additionally, this role will serve as the FP&A Controller, responsible for forecasting and managing the planning and budgeting cycles.
A successful MOEN Corporate Controller candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications will include:
- A practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques
- Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices
- Solid IT skills, including proficiency in the relevant accounting packages
- Strong analytical skills to effectively analyze financial reports
- In-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting
- Possess a bachelor’s a degree in accounting, economics, finance or a related field. A master’s qualification, such as a master’s in business administration (MBA) or a master’s degree in accounting is desirable, have a recognized professional accountancy qualification from a professional institution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work closely with the NAHC Shared Service consolidation team ensuring all accounting tasks follow financial regulations and reporting requirements to keep the company in compliance with Nidec group reporting CP&P
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, monthly rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Develop and maintain financial models for various business units and projects.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis.
- Support the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and management reporting.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making.
- Assist in the evaluation of potential investments, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work closely with the group consolidation administrator to ensure the group consolidation tool is in line with MOEN group reporting needs including ensuring managerial segmental hierarchies are in place and efficient.
