Reporting to the CFO, the Corporate Controller plays a key role in the company. In this position, you will oversee all financial and accounting operations for Sanimax a growing international company. This role is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, ensuring the company financial health and regulatory adherence across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in multinational financial management.

You will be tasked with initiating management strategies, as well as ensuring the development and implementation of systems and policies aimed at optimizing the company's efficiency, productivity, and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international tax laws, accounting regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate audits (internal and external) and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • You will oversee the preparation of various reports and analyses requested by senior management and the Board.
  • You will be responsible for strengthening internal controls and ensuring their reliability.
  • As the manager of the company’s accounting system structure, you will oversee the proper functioning of financial information systems and act as the liaison with the technology and information systems team.

Accounting & Operations

  • Responsible for the financial consolidation process across four countries and operations.
  • Supervise accounting functions, AP, AR  and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Ensure efficient month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage international financial transactions, currency conversions, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Optimize financial systems and processes to support business efficiency and growth.

Strategic Financial Management

  • Assist in cash flow management, treasury functions, and capital expenditure planning.
  • Support M&A activities, due diligence, and financial integration of new business units.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and mentor a small accounting and finance team across multiple locations.
  • Partner with executives and department heads to align financial strategy with business goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and financial discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to exhibit leadership, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make quick, sound decisions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a professional accounting designation (CA or CPA)
  • 10+ years in financial statement management and general operations management within the manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS
  • Knowledge of software: Microsoft Office Suite, BPC (Business Planning & Consolidation), and Infor M3 (an asset)
  • Proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written); Spanish and Portuguese are an asset.
