About the Role
Support the Associate Director, Corporate Compliance and partner with other Compliance functional leads to ensure AIAHK & Macau operates in accordance with the Group Policies and guidelines and local regulatory requirements.
Drive the implementation of a fit-for-purpose compliance framework on regulatory compliance programs, including the following across all entities under AIAHK’s (e.g., AIA International, AIA Everest, Blue Cross, Blue Care and UCare) oversight:
• Code of Conduct
• Regulatory Compliance Reporting and Governance
• Outsourcing
• FATCA, CRS and Gifts & Entertainment (G&E)
• Regulatory Compliance projects and regional initiatives as assigned from time to time (e.g. PIPL, cross-border data transfer and regional privacy programs)
This role will also coordinate with other Compliance functional leads to manage compliance governance reporting, inclusive of compliance reports made to Boards and committees covered by AIAHK.
This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Associate Director, Corporate Compliance, the position will focus on the following activities covering all entities under AIAHK’s oversight (e.g., AIA International, AIA Everest, Blue Cross, Blue Care and UCare):
CRS/FATCA and/or Outsourcing Compliance (45%) (Candidate with either one SME experience will also be considered)
- Act as a key SME for CRS/FATCA and/or Outsourcing compliance and provide advice to business and functional stakeholders on applicable regulatory requirements, Group policies and internal standards.
- Support the implementation, maintenance and continuous enhancement of the CRS/FATCA and/or Outsourcing compliance frameworks, procedures, controls and governance arrangements.
- For CRS/FATCA, provide compliance oversight and advice on due diligence, self-certification, account holder classification, reporting requirements and other implementation matters, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to address identified issues.
- Monitor developments in CRS/FATCA requirements and support impact assessments and implementation of regulatory changes.
- For Outsourcing, provide compliance advice on the assessment and ongoing oversight of outsourcing arrangements, including regulatory requirements, governance, risk assessment and applicable notification or reporting requirements.
- Support relevant governance forums and management reporting for CRS/FATCA and/or Outsourcing, including escalation and follow-up of material issues and remediation actions.
- Develop and maintain relevant guidelines, procedures, templates and training materials and conduct risk-based monitoring to assess compliance with applicable CRS/FATCA and/or Outsourcing requirements.
Regulatory Compliance Framework (20%)
- In coordination with Compliance functional leads, lead the preparation of compliance risk management reporting for senior management, Boards, and committees, and coordinate input on compliance communication/ awareness activities
- Continue enhancing the protocols for the maintenance of the Regulatory Database. Liaise with Law, Group Compliance and relevant departments to ensure timely, completeness and quality of input.
- Perform risk-based monitoring activities to ensure existing and new regulatory requirements are complied with.
- Assist with the investigation, analysis and reporting of compliance incidents in relevant areas to ensure regulatory breaches or significant compliance matters are appropriate managed. Support the oversight of implementation of remedial actions by relevant risk owners.
- Identify risks and update assessment on compliance risks, controls and actions for areas acting as the SME in the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) System for the Compliance function.
Regulatory and Code of Conduct Program Management (20%)
- Support the development of guidelines, templates and presentations to improve the management and execution of the Programs, as well as other regulatory compliance guidelines issued by relevant financial regulators. Continue to improve business and functional partners’ awareness of relevant risk areas through ongoing engagements, communications and training.
- Assist the management of committees that oversee the Programs, and other programs as necessary.
- Assess Conflict of Interest Declarations and Gifts and Entertainment submission to ensure Code of Conduct requirements are complied.
Compliance Transformation and Projects (15%)
- Support the Associate Director, Corporate Compliance and senior management with managing and leading departmental projects, as directed.
- The position may be directed to support with the coordination of regulatory and internal reviews.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a compliance professional in a financial institution, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
- Degree qualified, professional qualifications in accounting, audit or law highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge in Hong Kong and Macau insurance and pension related regulations, including practical experience in insurance operations.
- Possesses an analytical mindset with excellent organizational skills. Demonstrated applied knowledge in data analytics highly preferred.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to influence peers and senior management on compliance risk issues.
- The incumbent is required to obtain relevant license if the job involves in regulated activities.
