We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and hands-on Communications Manager to support Datadog’s corporate communication efforts in the US and support global product communications and social media efforts as needed.
We are looking for a proven corporate communications professional who has experience in supporting fast-growing companies and fast-growing global communications teams.

The ideal candidate thrives in building not only communications strategies – but also operations and ways of working that support a growing global communications team. This means you understand how to quickly identify process gaps, enjoy developing scalable solutions and are nimble when working with a global team.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and execute communication strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation in the US.
  • Lead complex communication projects and campaigns, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Build mechanisms and processes to help support a growing global communications function.
  • Manage day-to-day operations and be a go-to contact for our external US PR agency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams—including Investor Relations, Legal, Event Marketing, Partner Marketing, Customer Marketing, Community and Advocacy—to drive and amplify news.
  • Track and report on relevant company news coverage in the US.
  • Draft, edit and approve media comments, briefing materials, op-eds and press releases.
  • Draft, edit and publish posts on Datadog's corporate social media channels across LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Instagram, as needed.
  • Position Datadog executives and subject matter experts as thought leaders in the industry through bylined articles, speaking engagements and media interviews.
  • Monitor industry trends, media coverage, and competitive landscape to inform PR strategies and proactively shape narratives.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of related communications experience.
  • Proven success building and executing corporate communication strategies for fast-growing technology companies.
  • Strong experience working with global PR agencies.
  • Deep understanding of traditional and social media trends.
  • Experience developing and driving communications campaigns for B2B companies.
  • Exceptional project management, written, verbal, and presentation skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with shifting priorities.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
