As Corporate Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies, and implementing effective internal controls ensuring compliance with the SOX control framework.

What you’ll do
  • Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring adherence to accounting principles (GAAP) and internal controls with a focus on leases, capital labor, prepaids, and fixed assets.
  • Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing coaching and direction to achieve departmental goals.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Review general ledger account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely completion of month-end closing procedures.
  • Work closely with other departments to provide accurate and timely financial information for leadership insights and decision‑making.
  • Analyze financial data, identify trends, and prepare reports to support informed business decisions.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Prepare close calendar and assist in managing completion of the monthly and quarterly close process and financial reporting controls.
  • Maintain accounting policies and process documentation for shared service functions and the close process.
  • Stay current on relevant accounting standards, insurance regulations, and best practices.
  • Prepare and review materials for annual audits and quarterly reviews, including working directly with internal and external audit on walkthroughs and testing requests.
  • Lead department level projects and support enterprise projects.
  • Assist in managing enterprise risk on enterprise projects while supporting and ensuring accounting requirements are met.

This might describe you

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA preferred).
  • Proven experience in accounting.
  • Experience leading projects or a team.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Workday Financial Management or similar cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Other things to note
  • This role can be worked from any U.S. remote location.
  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
