Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Corporate Accountant manages and maintains StoragePRO’s internal financial records, prepares financial statements, and ensures compliance with internal controls and financial regulations. Reporting to the Controller, this role monitors financial performance and informs management of critical issues. (onsite at our corporate office in Downtown Walnut Creek)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconciliations, analyses, and journal entries in support of the close process; assist with budget creation and variance analysis.
  • Maintain inter-entity billing documentation, invoice and record earned fee revenue and receivables and allocate expenses to other entities.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules; investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues.
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring GAAP compliance.
  • Collaborate with property accountants, asset management, operations, banking, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide back-up support to other accountants and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, and 4 years of experience in accounting analysis and reporting, preferably in property management/real estate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and tax laws; CPA a plus
  • Advanced Excel, Microsoft Office, ERP skills
  • Experience with Yardi a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; high attention to detail and confidentiality; able to manage priorities and meet deadlines
  • Collaborative team mindset
