Job Summary:
We’re seeking a talented Copywriter to craft compelling, consumer-focused messaging and help define the Reolink brand voice in North America. In this role, you’ll bring your security camera and smart home solutions to life through clear, benefit-driven storytelling that educates, reassures, and inspires homeowners and businesses to protect what matters most. You’ll collaborate closely with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams to translate global brand strategies into clear, engaging, and high-performing locally relevant copy. The ideal candidate has a sharp ear for brand voice, a knack for simplifying technical features into relatable benefits, and the ability to write across digital, retail, and campaign channels with precision and persuasion.

Key Responsibilities:
● Develop clear, persuasive, and on-brand copy for product launches, website content, email campaigns, social media, retail packaging, ads, and video scripts.
● Translate complex technical product features (e.g., 4K resolution, solar power, smart detection) into simple, benefit-driven messaging that resonates with North American consumers.
● Maintain and evolve a consistent brand voice that feels approachable, trustworthy, innovative, and empowering—aligned with global standards but tailored to local preferences.
● Collaborate with designers, the Creative Director, social media, PR, and product teams to create integrated campaigns and cohesive storytelling.
● Write high-impact headlines, product descriptions, CTAs, and short-form content that drive engagement, conversions, and brand affinity.
● Adapt copy for different channels and audiences, from tech-savvy homeowners to small business owners, ensuring relevance and cultural fit.
● Partner with the Creative Director to bring bold creative concepts to life through words that complement visual storytelling.
● Stay informed on consumer trends, competitor messaging, and security industry insights to keep content fresh and competitive.
● Proofread, edit, and refine copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency across all touchpoints.
● Present copy concepts and messaging strategies to stakeholders, advocating for ideas that strengthen emotional connection and market position.
● Advocate for locally relevant messaging, providing input and feedback to global teams to ensure resonance in the North American market
● Develop performance-driven copy that supports conversion across DTC, retail, and marketplace environments

Qualifications:
● 5+ years of copywriting experience, preferably in consumer tech, electronics, home security, or lifestyle brands.
● Strong portfolio showcasing persuasive copy across digital channels (social, email, web), product marketing, and campaign work.
● Proven ability to simplify technical concepts into clear, compelling, benefit-oriented language.
● Experience writing for North American audiences, with an understanding of regional tone, humor, and consumer motivations.
● Excellent collaboration skills and experience working with creative, marketing, and cross-functional teams.
● Strong command of English grammar, style, and tone adaptation.
● Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital content optimization.
● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.
● Bonus: Experience in consumer tech. Experience writing conversion-focused copy (e.g., product pages, paid media, email flows) with measurable impact.
● Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of ownership and ambiguity

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
