Role Overview
We are seeking a sharp, detail-oriented Copy Editor with strong writing skills to join our
editorial team. This role is a hybrid position that combines content creation (market, business
coverage and features) with editorial oversight to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency
across our newsroom output.

Key Responsibilities
● Write high-quality, engaging, and accurate content, including news articles, opinion
pieces, and feature stories on financial markets, investing trends, companies, and the
broader economy.
● Edit articles from staff writers and freelancers for grammar, style, structure, readability,
and factual accuracy.
● Ensure all content aligns with Benzinga’s editorial guidelines and AP Style.
● Collaborate with reporters, editors, and analysts to refine story angles and strengthen
narratives.
● Fact-check and verify sources, data, and quotes to maintain journalistic integrity.
● Optimize headlines and copy for SEO and reader engagement.
● Work under tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
● Provide constructive editorial feedback to writers to help improve their craft.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Economics, English, or a related field.
● 3–4 years of experience in financial journalism, business reporting, or a similar editorial
role.
