About the role
This is a senior individual contributor and people manager role responsible for the measurement infrastructure that powers performance across 100+ client accounts. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in conversion tracking and data engineering with the strategic instincts to prioritize high-impact work in a fast-moving agency environment. You will own the BI practice end-to-end — from tag implementation and data architecture to client reporting and team development.

What you'll do

  • Lead and manage a team of 2–4 employees and contractors, including remote and international resources, providing direction, quality oversight, and professional development
  • Own online and offline conversion tracking strategy and implementation across Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, and other paid channels
  • Architect and maintain data pipelines and reporting infrastructure to support client measurement needs at scale
  • Design and manage GA4 configurations, GTM containers, and tagging frameworks across a diverse client portfolio
  • Oversee offline conversion tracking integrations, including CRM-to-ad-platform data flows via tools like HubSpot and Zapier
  • Build and maintain client-facing dashboards and performance reports in Looker Studio and BigQuery
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on measurement best practices, consent frameworks, and attribution methodology
  • Collaborate with account management and paid media teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver BI projects across competing client demands
  • Evaluate and implement AI-assisted automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort across the team
  • Define and document processes, SOPs, and quality standards for the BI function
  • Track and manage tracking support deliverables and timelines to ensure excellent client experience centered around BI initiatives

Knowledge & Critical Skills/Experience

  • Conversion tracking — end-to-end implementation and QA across major ad platforms (Google, Meta, Microsoft, LinkedIn)
  • Offline conversion tracking — CSV uploads, API-based data ingestion, CRM-to-platform pipelines
  • Google Tag Manager — container management, custom triggers/variables, consent mode
  • GA4 — event schema design, data stream configuration, debugging
  • HubSpot — CRM integration, lead tracking, and ad platform sync
  • Zapier and equivalent workflow automation tools
  • Looker Studio — dashboard creation and data source management
  • BigQuery — working familiarity with querying and data organization for reporting
  • Project management — ability to triage and execute across multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously
  • Team leadership — experience managing full-time employees and contractors across time zones

Bonus Qualifications

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL (CTEs, window functions, aggregation)
  • Experience with AI automation tools (n8n, Make, or similar)
  • Familiarity with API-based ad platform integrations
  • Prior experience in a digital or paid media agency setting

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
