Position Summary:

As our Controller, you are responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and processes.  This role will lead budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, tax coordination, and financial strategy while managing and mentoring accounting staff. The Controller must possess strong analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to drive business results.  
Compensation: $90,000 – $125,000 annually.
Final compensation will be determined based on geographic location, market conditions, and the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations
  • Manage and monitor cash flow, including line-of-credit (LOC) reporting
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts and other key financial accounts
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes to inform decision-making and improve financial performance
  • Provide actionable financial insights to executive management, driving operational efficiency and strategic initiatives
  • Develop, implement, and enforce robust internal control policies and procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate corporate filings, including Statement of Information (SOI) renewals, business license renewals, and regulatory reporting
  • Support external tax and audit firms with data preparation for filings, audits and regulatory compliance
  • Serve as the liaison for foreign entities, coordinating financial statement processing, tax filings, and mandatory board meetings
  • Partner with foreign accounting and audit teams to ensure alignment with local regulations and standards
  • Manage business and facility insurance applications and renewals, in collaboration with relevant team members
  • Conduct and oversee workers compensation (W/C) audits, and ensure compliance.
  • Partner with Human Resources and relevant team members in company-wide benefit enrollments and administration, including but not limited to health insurance programs, 401(k), and any additional fringe benefits programs
  • Ensure the secure handling of sensitive company data during enrollment and implementation processes
  • Oversee the completion of the Annual Integrated Economic Survey and Census, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Manage and mentor accounting and finance staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with executives on financial strategies and business planning to support the company's growth and objectives
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs and/or Executive Leadership 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a leadership role. 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with international financial coordination and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Quickbooks, ADP General Ledger, and other financial software, and financial modeling tools. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail. 
Physical Requirements: 
  • This is a remote position, however, it may require in-office attendance for designated meetings, training sessions, and occasional travel to other worksites as needed.  
  • Ability to travel overnight for business meetings, as needed. 
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, etc.  
  • Ability to review detailed documents and data on computer screens for extended periods. 
  • Manual dexterity for operating a computer, including the use of a keyboard and mouse. 
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry office supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds. 
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members across the organization
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules based on project needs, with occasional requests for additional hours during temporary projects.  
  • Capability to manage tasks that require prolonged periods of focus and concentration. 
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of a standard workweek, which may include occasional overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays, if needed.
