About LiveFlow:
LiveFlow is on a mission to redefine how businesses manage their finances. We are building the next-generation accounting and finance platform that transforms outdated systems and complex, often manual workflows into a simple, smart and intuitive user experience—and we need a brilliant brand designer to help us bring our vision to life.

We have raised over $21M from top-tier investors including: YC, YC Continuity, Valar Seedcamp, WndrCo, Moonfire, Bradley Horowitz (VP Product, Google) and more.

We are helping thousands of companies to streamline their financial workflows and we have hundreds of 5/5 ratings on G2.

Our founding team previously worked at Europe's fastest growing fintech, Revolut.

Why might this be the coolest Controller role you’ll come across?
At LiveFlow, we believe financial rigor is just as critical as product innovation. We’re hiring our first Financial Controller to own and elevate our accounting operations across both our US and UK entities.

You’ll take full ownership of our books end-to-end and establish world-class accounting standards that ensure accuracy, compliance, and top-notch reporting. You’ll design scalable processes, oversee multi-entity consolidation, and guide us toward best-in-class practices as we continue to grow internationally.

But here’s what makes this opportunity truly unique:
You won’t just run our finance operations—you’ll also help us build the product you’ve always wished existed. As a Controller at LiveFlow, you’ll collaborate directly with our product team, shaping tools built for finance leaders like yourself. Your insight will help us create a world-class Accounting & Finance platform that solves real problems for professionals in your seat.

This is a chance to go beyond traditional finance—to expand your skills into product development, influence design decisions, and help redefine how finance teams operate at scale.

Finally, this role reports directly to Lasse Kalkar, our CEO & Founder.

What you’ll do

  • Own the books – Lead the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes for US and UK entities, with full responsibility for GAAP compliance.

  • Establish policies & processes – Create and maintain internal documentation for accounting policies, controls, and business processes.

  • Deliver consolidated reporting – Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow), ensuring accurate eliminations, FX translation, and insightful commentary. Thankfully, we’ve already built an amazing Consolidation product that helps you automate this!

  • Help us shape our own Finance & Accounting product – Provide accounting and compliance expertise to influence LiveFlow’s product design, ensuring we build products that finance leaders trust and love.

  • Partner with leadership – Deliver clear financial insights and reporting to guide strategic decision-making, fundraising, and company growth.

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • Experienced with managing multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and cross-border compliance (US + UK).

  • 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including time in public accounting (Big 4 or similar) and high-growth Startups/SaaS.

  • Proven ability to take ownership and make judgment calls without heavy oversight.

  • A track record of going above and beyond to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Comfortable with personally closing the books in a lean team environment.

  • Excited to establish processes, controls, and systems from the ground up in a startup setting.

What we look for in team members at LiveFlow

  1. Extreme ambition: We look for people with an extreme level of personal ambition – those who don’t take no for an answer when faced with obstacles; those who break barriers; and those who redefine what’s possible.

  2. Clarity of thought and clear communication: We seek people who excel at achieving clarity of thought. Clarity of thought and clear communication go hand in hand — without clear thinking, it’s impossible to communicate clearly.

  3. Ability to learn fast: We value people who learn quickly and take the initiative to explore new areas of knowledge.

  4. Curiosity: We seek people who are naturally curious about the world and how things work – those who ask thoughtful, challenging questions and aren’t afraid to question the status quo.

  5. High work ethic & ownership: We look for people recognized for a high work ethic and ownership. We believe extraordinary results are never the product of mediocre effort.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
