The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our growing team. The Controller will oversee and scale our accounting, financial operations, and reporting functions for the company and its investment entities. Reporting to the CFO, this role will work closely with senior leadership on all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, treasury, compliance and strategy.
Functions include managing and establishing relationships with third-party accountants/auditors, preparing corporate, investment entity-level and consolidated financial statements, implementing accounting processes and procedures, expense management, and assisting with corporate planning and annual budgeting. This position offers the chance to shape the accounting team from the ground up, with ample room for career advancement.
The Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, tax compliance, and cash management for the company and investment entities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expenses, and revenue recognition
- Manage reporting and audit processes for investment vehicles alongside fund administrators and external auditors
- Refine and enforce internal controls policies to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with senior management on strategic financial planning to drive operational improvement
- Prepare and deliver financial reports for investors, including tracking capital calls, distributions, and performance metrics for real estate investment vehicles
- Guide and develop the accounting team, fostering professional growth and ensuring top-tier performance.
The Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
- CPA or CMA
- 2+ years of management or supervisory experience on an accounting or finance team
- Fluency in accounting systems and systems implementation
- Exceptional financial modeling skills
- Experience with RIA or investment manager preferred
- Experience with real estate preferred
The Pay and Perks
- Compensation Range: $140,000-160,000. Compensation range is approximate and will be based on a candidate's skills, experience, location, and internal equity.
