Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. The Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the US day-to-day financial activities of the organization, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, internal controls, compliance, US taxes and strategic financial planning.

As a key member of the finance leadership team, the Controller will work closely with senior management to support decision-making and drive financial performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, deep knowledge of GAAP, and proven experience managing accounting teams in a fast-paced environment.

Your day to day

  • Strategic Planning
  • Develop and implement strategies in line with the Company’s objectives.
  • Provide strategic input on accounting matters to the CFO/COO.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Effectively plan resources and tools.
  • Financial Reporting and Accounting Close
  • Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for the US operations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage the analysis of US financial statements and provide explanations for any material variances.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 842 will be helpful.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Tax compliance. Handle US Sales Tax and US Property Tax in the US. 
  • Procurement and Purchasing
  • Optimize purchasing processes to drive cost savings and efficiency.
  • AP management – accurate recording and timely payment.
  • NetSuite Expertise
  • Leverage NetSuite to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data within NetSuite.
  • Collaborate with external NetSuite consultants to optimize NetSuite functionality and implement system enhancements.
  • Financial Analysis and Planning
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts. 
  • Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead by example; model the behaviors that exemplify Zadara’s core values and standard of conduct.
  • Mentor team members, fostering their growth and development.
  • Manage team’s performance, ensuring regular feedback loop, and collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Oversee and coordinate team activities in the daily operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

What you bring

  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, preferably within a technology or  SaaS company.
  • Minimum of 3 years in leadership role
  • Proven experience managing financial operations in a multi-entity environment.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and relevant financial regulations.
  • Extensive experience with NetSuite, including implementation, administration, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.  
  • Experience with legal contract review, and compliance management.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced business often going through continuous change.
  • Proactive, initiator, able to multitask and prioritize.

Your education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance, or related field

Other

  • For candidates based near our Irvine, CA office: Role will be considered a hybrid role with on-site presence a few days per week.
  • For remote candidates: Travel to the Irvine office is expected to be every few months or may vary depending on business priorities.
