For our debut game, MARVEL SNAP, we've partnered with Marvel (Trust us, we had to pinch ourselves too!). Our Finance Team

Your Role
The Controller will be responsible for the operational finance and accounting operations, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax, corporate requirements, and ensuring employees follow company policies and practices. This role will report to the VP, Finance, and work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee all operational finance and accounting functions, including, but not limited to, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General ledger, financial reporting, federal/state/local taxes
Develop and implement a vision for the future state of the accounting department
Supervise and develop finance and accounting team members
Ensure Second Dinner’s compliance with all applicable accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, etc.) and contractual obligations with external parties
Develop technical memos as needed
Drive operational process improvements
Ensure and implement strong internal controls
Manage purchasing, vendor payments, and treasury functions
Oversee equity administration process including calculating stock compensation expense
Oversee annual audit, tax, compliance, and other initiatives as needed
Manage relevant key third-party relationships--e.g., with tax professionals, outside auditors, banking partners, payment service providers, software vendors
Support financial planning and budgeting
Complete ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed
What You’ll Need:
Proven work experience around month-end close, preparing financial statements, researching guidance, and drafting memos
CPA license required
10+ years of experience in finance and accounting with 3+ years in a management position/team leader.
Thorough knowledge of technical accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and procedures
Desire to work in a creative startup environment and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed
Passion for being scrappy, working independently, attention to detail, and building things from scratch
Nice to Have, but Not Necessary:
Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Public accounting (Big 4) experience
Experience scaling operational finance and accounting functions in a start-up
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks Online
Experience with an implementation of an ERP system
Working with equity administration software (e.g., Carta)
Experience working with international companies/businesses
Experience with revenue recognition for video games or direct-to-consumer saas businesses and a strong grasp of ASC 606
Passion for video games
The total compensation for this position includes a new hire offer base salary range of $200,000 - $250,000 USD + equity + comprehensive benefits + potential for discretionary performance bonuses.
Individual pay within this salary range may span multiple levels within the discipline and is determined by assessed job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training. It also factors in market demands and business needs. The disclosed range is not adjusted based on location and may be subject to change or modification based on business needs in the future.
