SUMMARY: 

The Controller will be responsible for establishing and optimizing Parachute’s accounting infrastructure to ensure compliance, accuracy and timeliness to support and promote profitable goals and objectives.  They will be a key player in the Finance department, responsible for month end closing, inter-departmental information flow, internal and external finance reporting support and developing and complying with accounting procedures and internal controls. This candidate should be an accountable, detail oriented leader looking to make a significant impact on Parachute’s growth and success.

Location: LA Based (hybrid at our Culver City, CA HQ)

What You’ll Do:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Oversee financial closings and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and manage the accounting team, handling hiring, training, and performance assessments.
  • Accounting Operations: Oversee accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Inventory Accounting: Manage inventory-related processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and cost analysis.
  • Internal Controls: Implement strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure data accuracy.
  • System & Process Optimization: Improve accounting systems and processes, with a focus on using NetSuite for enhanced efficiency.
  • Tax & Audit Coordination: Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Strategic Insights: Provide financial recommendations to senior management to support business decisions and growth.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field & CPA required
  • Minimum 3 years public auditor experience
  • 12+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Inventory accounting experience is essential, preferably in consumer products industry.
  • Strong knowledge of NetSuite and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven leadership in managing financial operations, audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Parachute takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. The estimated pay range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 plus annual bonus.
