Job Description SummaryThe GE Aerospace’s Contracts team is a critical team member, and a trusted and proactive business partner to the product lines within the business. Contracts is the face of GE Aerospace to our US and foreign Government acquisition and airframer procurement customers. We are charged with cradle to grave contract management duties in all phases of a Program, from proposal strategy through the full development, production, and sustainment life cycle. The contracts team provides expert knowledge in customer relationships and regulations, contract terms, price, and profit negotiation, risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and scope management. As an enabler to the business Contracts collaborates across multiple functions and is laser focused on achieving a business deal ensuring both GE Aerospace and the customers’ expectations are met.
The Contracts Manager is a dynamic role that will provide proactive contract management support on assigned programs from capture to execution and close out. This position is responsible for leading the contracts management for their assigned programs and proposals for the Marine Engines & Mobility business area. This position will work within a cross-functional team to ensure flawless execution on our current programs and support the pursuit of new business. This position involves direct interfacing with internal stakeholders across the organization and externally with various Governmental customers. A comprehensive knowledge of government contract regulations and requirements is critical. The ideal candidate can develop creative and innovative solutions to complex business problems.

Job DescriptionEssential Functions / Responsibilities

  • Act as primary interface between GE Aerospace and customers on all contractual matters

  • Provide contract administration for assigned proposals and contracts including regular interfacing with customers, leading negotiations, and contract interpretation

  • Interface with Manufacturing, Program Management, Marketing, Sourcing, Engineering, and Legal

  • Perform proposal, negotiation, and contract administration functions on assigned proposals / contracts with minimal supervision

  • Present risk mitigation strategies to Senior Leadership related to contractual risk

  • Provide support to managers and senior contract personnel on assigned contracts

  • Assume team leader responsibilities for assigned programs and special projects

  • Provide interface liaison with functional organizations and insure proper communication of contractual requirements

  • Embraces Lean, digital tools, and rigorous contracting practices to drive continuous improvement and employee and customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to travel periodically

Qualifications/requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a contracts, sales, or legal role)

  • At least five (5) years of experience in government, commercial, or international contract formation and execution.

  • Must have experience building strong relationships with internal and external customers

  • Solid domain expertise in Parts 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and DoD FAR Supplement

  • Able to work independently as well as the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • The base pay range for this position is $108,900.00 - 145,400.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
