The Contracts Manager supports the organization’s procurement and vendor-management activities through the review, analysis, and negotiation of a wide range of vendor agreements. This role evaluates contract terms for alignment with company policies, collaborates with cross-functional partners to resolve complex issues, and ensures adherence to contracting standards. The position requires sound judgment, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple moderately complex matters with limited supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews, analyzes, and negotiates a variety of vendor agreements and amendments, ensuring consistency with company policies and established contracting guidelines.
  • Interprets complex contract provisions and assesses potential risks, providing recommendations that support business objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Partners with procurement and internal subject-matter experts to facilitate contract review and negotiation, including coordinating stakeholder input and guiding parties through resolution of issues.
  • Manages the contract-review workflow from initial request through drafting (as applicable), review, negotiation, and routing for signature.
  • Revises standard contract templates and language to align with the company’s contracting playbook.
  • Executes assigned departmental projects and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement contracting processes.
  • Provides backup support for Contracts Team responsibilities, as needed.
  • Collaborates across the organization to identify contracting process enhancements and operational efficiencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews, analyzes, and negotiates vendor agreements and related documentation.
  • Manages end-to-end contract workflow for assigned matters.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams to resolve contract issues and ensure alignment with policies.
  • Identifies and assesses contractual risks and provides informed recommendations.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively by meeting deadlines and managing workload efficiently.
  • Maintain professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of contract principles and related business practices, with the ability to assess moderately complex issues and propose solutions.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritize tasks, and anticipate potential issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written negotiation skills; familiarity with oral negotiation in a corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capability with the ability to adapt existing approaches to unique contract scenarios.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and communicate risk elements in business transactions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong technical proficiency with common business applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Salesforce, DocuSign, Adobe, Slack, JIRA, Google Workspace).

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience managing contracts in a corporate environment, including experience collaborating with procurement on the review and negotiation of subscription and technology agreements.
